My finger is on the trigger, but I have no ammo til Thursday (payday). Since I'll be joining your ranks then, I have to ask...why is this community so strong? I've been reading and reading, and you folk seem like the kind of community I used to enjoy back in the 90s on BBSs and then on early forums. I'm wondering why this particular mod has engendered this gathering of kindred. Obviously it's an amazing device, but gadgetlove doesn't, intuitively, gather and solidify a group of people like this one seems to. So, what gives? Does Rob imbue the squonktank with lovedust or what?

I'm still (less than) patiently waiting for my firat. But I believe, similar to the Provari, when there is an excellent product that lasts forever, has great support and "just works", its going to get a following. The strong, helpful community here is in of the things that swayed me this direction. Plus, the looks ain't for everybody, but I think they look damn fine too.

To answer your question - it's because there is such a breadth of knowledge and talent here, of all age ranges, that if you have a question or a problem you will likely have 15 replies in the time it has taken you to realise that in fact you made no typos in your original post for a change!

And if it requires that your mod is returned to Rob to be repaired, then he turns it around and gets it back to you as fast as humanly possible.

There are very creative types here too - from engineers to CAD drafters and machinists that are able to drive suggested improvements and a supplier that listens.

Oh, and the Reos work too. Really well. I'll wager that you can sell one if you don't like it for very close to what it cost you.

One thing you will notice is that the majority of posts aren't about people having problems with their Reos. For the most part, folks are posting about how happy they are with their devices. When someone does need help with something there is always someone with an answer, and many follow ups. And they are quick about it. If there is a problem with the device itself, Rob almost always chimes in.

When I was using other mods and whatnot, there were issues with flooding, burnt hits, muted flavor, misfires etc. Not with the Reo. Paired with the RM2, this thing just cannot be beat.

It is an stellar product and you get excellent support.

Aren't you an ex-computer programmer?

allegedly...

i'm also on record as saying ya shouldn't trust anything i say. :)

What would Ernest Hemingway have to say about Woody Allen? I need your insight.

i imagine he would rank Woody somewhere between F. Scott Fitzgerald and Gertrude Stein...

which is kinda ironic since i see some Hemingway in Woody (in a Freudian kinda way)

The truth is we're all homeless people and and Robert was kind enough to take us in.
When he goes out to work in his shop, we all scramble for his keyboard. Only room for one of us at a time but obviously we hustle through with what we have to say. Of course we all rant about how great REO's are because if Robert doesn't make money, our biscuits and mustard won't be there tomorrow. Only reason I'm telling you this is because I've been kicked out--made the mistake of cooking and eating one of the porcupines. Boy, that ...... Robert off.
My bad.
