@TomCatt - LOL, thanks for asking, Tom - I wanted to know too. Next time I hesitate to ask, I'll know who to come looking for.:p:laugh:

Mind, I think you couldn't stand the taste of the cigs for the same reason I couldn't any longer. When the BT started putting the flame ......ant in the cigarette papers, I think they put it in the tobacco, too, and it was hideously nastypoo - it stung my tongue! My Benson & Hedges Gold went up to $7.26 a pack, so I switched to generics which really gagged me, so switched to menthol which was better, but still pretty yucko.

My cigarette depot lost my business when they put a sign on the door advertising the e-cig - Vapure at a $100 price tag for a little wimpy unit. I went home and googled, ended up on ECF, read more and bought from cignot. The funny thing is, the cig store had them so highly priced that they couldn't sell them - stopped carrying them.

A fortunate thing is that I don't think that carpet glue crap has reached our borders yet. I've been checking my wife's packs (she still smokes -- she is really, really picky about what she can vape due to health issues) and none of them have had the FSC initials on them, so thankfully I think we're okay for now. But I've told her about this crap and I think that was enough to give her the push she needs to really give vaping the college try. I've got some 6mg stuff she's going to try but I have to really clean out some cartos first. (She doesn't like the EMDCCs so I've got to give a thorough cleaning to the baggie of cartos I've accumulated from juice tests I ended up not liking.)

Ugh -- I hate places that do that. There's a smoke shop in the mall I live near that carries these crappy-looking cigs. One looks like some kind of disposable for $30, and the other is some sort of crap starter kit for $50 that features one battery, a charger and a few cartomizers. It's yet another one of those that advertizes that the cartomizers it comes with are equivalent to 7 packs of cigarettes. (Which means there are probably 5 standard length cartos in there.)

That's awesome Mindfield!
I'm in your position one year earlier as I have already made up my mind to quite analogs (one way or another), and am hoping e-cigarettes will give me the advantage I need to quit for good. My kit will be arriving tomorrow and to say that I am pumped, stoked, and eager for it to arrive would be a major understatement! It's success stories like yours that give us newcomers the encouragement to look forward to the challenges ahead!
Congratulations on quitting, and thank you for sharing your story!

Thank you! I am glad it's helping you look forward to quitting. E-cigs really do work. It may be a little different for everyone -- some may take a while to get off analogs, some may do it instantly -- and it can take some time to find that perfect combination of hardware and liquid before you've got a totally satisfying vape, but when you do, you don't even want to look at another analog. Heck, even with a lesser setup and some mediocre juice you get a really good sense that there's something really good with tons of promise here and that maybe it needs a little tweaking somewhere. But that's what this place is great for, tons of people who have all been there and can offer you more tips, tricks and words of encouragement than you can comfortably sort through in a week. :)

Try it out, stick with it, and even if that starter kit and/or the juice don't quite do the trick for you, know that the right combination is out there. The funny thing about switching to E-cigs is that in order to figure out what might work best for you (if your first kit seems to be lacking somewhere, that is) you end up asking yourself some questions you never thought to ask before. Like, what was it that attracted me to smoking most? Flavour? Throat hit? The nicotine? What am I not getting here that I got from analogs, and what PV and/or juice can give me that?

It may work right off the bad or it may need tweaking, but either way you'll figure it out, with or without our help. :)
