So I just got my 510 the other day and am absolutely in love with it! The only problem I am facing now is battery life. I am a constant, heavy vaper. I was reading about the Tornado and it seems to have excellent battery life.

I looked at the TW site and checked out the Tornado stuff. I am curious, what exactly do I need to get started with the Tornado? Just the battery and the charger adapter? Are the cones optional?

What do I need to get set up with it for minimal expense? I have plenty of 510 attys and carts.

Thanks!

yes... all you need is the battery and the adapter...cone is optional but i prefer it... if you drip it jeeps the juice from running down the side... it also hardens up the draw a little bit... but with the regular 510 charger it takes about 4 hrs to charge 1 battery... so if you need a quicker charge i would say get the usb quick charge... ill be ordering my quick charger this friday...

the cones are optional..though I highly highly suggest one...they tighten up the draw and prewarm the air coming in to you get a warmer/fuller vapor..and slight improved flavor..

But yeah minimal expense battery/charger adapter/cone ....that's it..(warning standard charger with adapter takes like 6 hours to charge....might want the fast usb charger instead of the adapter (takes like 1 1/2-2 hours that way))

Cone may be optional, but you'd miss one great advantage: No more leaking. Plus, it does enhance the flavour, and they are not particularly expensive.

OTOH, if you already have adapters for different atties/batteries: A 510->901 and then a 901-510 (should work with others, too) does exactly the same as the Tornardo adapter: lengthen the bits that need to go into the charger.
Although, you will probably soon want an eGo/Tornardo charger anyway. They are a lot faster. But for just trying, those atty adapters work just as well.

Everyone else pretty much covered it. Cones are $6 and improve the function of the device (warmer vapor, more natural draw, no leakage on your fingers, and arguably other benefits.) Not getting juice on your fingers is reason enough to make it worthwhile.

And I have no problem using the normal 510 charger with the adapter. It takes a long time to charge (6 hours, give-or-take), but it lasts longer than it takes to charge so I always have a charged battery when it's time for one.

The Tornado is really a cheap solution to the battery recharging vs. getting a PCC and passthrough.

And while the cone does help with the warmer vape that 510 users like, without the cone you can get a cooler vape that the 901 and 801 users like on the lighter fruit/berry flavors. If I am doing some Black Currant or Peach Cobbler on the Tornado, I just leave the cone off.

I have the eGo and I am soooooo in LOVE with this thing and have 3 friends and counting that have them and LOVE theres as well. It's sweet looking and works so darn good! Get's an AAA+++ in my book that is for sure. You will never look back after getting this and you won't be so annoyed recharging batteries all the time either...I know I don't miss that at all! :)

It looks like the best and most complete kit is at Totally Wicked. Two batts, two attys, the cone, carts charger. What else would I need?

Cliff,

There are two types of chargers that I know of - one needs the adapter for a main charger and the other - a usb quick charger. I have both and the quick charger is 2x faster than the other one. They really should be throwing in that charger with the kit, imo. But if you already have the 510 attys and carts then all you need is the battery(s), quick charger and one cone. And if you go that way you can 'mix and match' - get one black one, one platinum, and any color cone looks good with any batt, imo. But then you could of course get two cones.

I was just reading about a lot of battery buttons being stuck on the TW kits. Maybe I need to wait and see what comes of all this.
Kent - the mix and match sounds like a good idea if I decide to go with the Tornado idea.

That's what I did. And I've gotten them after the stuck button thing - with no problem. I already had the attys and carts so I got two batts - one for me, one for the wife in black and titanium with the quick charger (second order) and 2 cones. Much less than the 'starter set'. But I also got the mains adapter with the first order - only one available then. And you get better than mega power and peak voltage from this battery. It is why I'd recommend anyone with a 510 kit looking to get a PCC to get the tornado (or ego) batt instead.
