Temperature control & Hotwires?

Good day guys,

I've made the plug into temp control a few months back and recently had someone telling me people are using Hotwires in their Temp box mods.

Can this really be done in temp mode? There reasoning is that it nickel plated.

Has anyone done this?

If your mod has an algorythim for regulating the material then it should be OK. Plating I would think would be much harder to regulate.

That's what I was thinking, Not sure if plating will get the temperature right, so I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this?

I know people are doing ni200 wrapped around kenthoal but again, there temps are off by like 100 degree's

Yeah most TC devices don't regulate temperature well with Kanthal.... Thats why you use super low almost NON resistant Nickle and Titanium wire for that. The devices regulate based on the metalugical properties of the wire. mixing wire or using resistance wire for TC mode defeats the TC logic.
