I am curious.
Temp. control should reduce the temp if overheating detected above the limit, that means the cotton wont get burned
Lets assume we have 2 coils , one Kanthal and one Ni200 in temp control. If we set the flavour to be aprox the same and we vape for a couple of days and then we dissasemble the atomizers we should see the cotton for Ni200 TC be less black than the Kanthal one(less burned)

Can some users post their results(pics) if they have?

I have the feeling the coulours would be the same :(

Yes they will be, if the power is adjusted to give the same taste, assuming the tank never runs dry and assuming you make even draws throughout each puff.

Temperature control helps in three ways: It gets up to temperature and stays there, so it can boost the power to warm the coil quicker. You get less delay at the start of a puff. If you pause mid-puff then it backs off the power so you will get an even taste and not burn the wick. When the tank runs dry it doesn't burn the wick.

Because double-puffing doesn't over-heat the coil, temperature control can be more boring -- you can't increase the heat of the vapour like you may be used to.

The TC is mostly a scam i would say. What it allows me is to drag for 10 sec if i want without overheatign the cooils. In wattage mode i control the time i inhale so i get what flavour i want , 1, 2, or 3 sec inhale etc
I dont get why TC is all the rage now.... really

I have a theory
When inhaling without temp control at start of puff u get the rich flavour and then at end you get the thick vapour.

The combination is great

With temp control u get almost instant vapour. I observed this that with TC i dont feel any taste. The only way to get some taste in temp control is to quickly press the button for a split second and quicly inhale :(

PS: when u chain vape in wattage mode , it will become as TC mode, as the heat builds up and u get at the beginning of vap max temp always ... From these we can see wattage mode not perfect :(, unless there is a way to quicly dissipate the heat after the puff ends

Cotton starts to singe when it gets to around 410 deg F. It won't do that in normal vaping unless it's pretty dry. Just getting a slightly burnt hit will not burn the cotton in my experience. Juice temperature on the exposed part of the coil (where no cotton is touching it) will be hotter than the cotton itself. Getting a 'burnt hit from hell' can burn cotton :(

In my experience it didn't make any difference to the cotton color.

Cotton can look discolored without it being burned. One of my favorite juices is sweet and dark. By the time I feel the need to dry burn and re-wick the cotton looks quite dark. I did wonder early on if it was burned so a few times I took wicks out and rinsed them in water. They always became almost completely white again after doing that.

Sorry, I don't have any pics but it's an easy experiment to try yourself. If you do please post results, I would be very interested to know what results you get :)

I think what you're experiencing is due to a rise in coil temperature as you take a drag.

With this setup your coil is getting up to the higher temperature quickly and you're missing the lower temp phase you got at the start of your VW vape.

PS: when u chain vape in wattage mode , it will become as TC mode, as the heat builds up and u get at the beginning of vap max temp always ... From these we can see wattage mode not perfect :(, unless there is a way to quicly dissipate the heat after the puff ends

I design my coil builds so there isn't much heat up delay. In this scenario wire temperature is actually quite stable from start to finish of a drag unless I change my drag speed during an inhale. I do that for both VW and TC builds. My TC builds do not hit the TC limit so are actually running in VW mode unless the wicks go dry (something goes wrong) and wire temperature rises past the TC limit.

I would think if you lower your TC temperature setting with your builds as they are you might find you'll get better flavor, but I haven't tried it myself so that's just an opinion.
