Terrible burnt dry hit,new ceramic coil

I put a new ceramic coil in my target tank and keep getting the worst burnt, dry hits I've ever had. Does anyone have experience with these coils and advice. It's a. 5ohm replacement vapreso coil 20 to 40 watts I started at 29 watts and barely
