I am definitely super newbish when it comes to the whole vape game, but I am not a newb when it comes to my tongue functioning well. I am more or less a food snob, and I won't try and pretend I have the most intricate palate in the world, but I know good flavor when I taste it.

Got my first PV maybe two weeks ago, a Riva kit. Ordered up some cheap juice with it so I'd have something to vape on until I had the chance to order some fancier stuff. The cheap liquid I got was actually fairly flavorful (some blueberry, some 555 and something purporting to be RY4 but was not great). I jumped on the chance to order some RY4 from Backwoodws Brew, and picked up some of their Malty Toffee along with it. Was super excited to get these in the mail.

As soon as they arrived (better steeped, I know!) I loaded up a Boge 2.0 carto with some of the RY4 and... dissappointment. Not much flavor to speak of, and once I had taken a few good drags, I noticed a very prominent taste. Very noticeable "fog machine" flavor. Now I know, what we are vaping on is the same stuff used in fog machines, but this is ridiculous. Same problem with the Malty Toffee. Light flavor of stale marshmallows, follwed by a much more noticeable flavor of fog juice. Pretty disgusting, really.

What am I doing wrong? Did I get a bad batch or something? The terrible flavor lingers even if I load up a carto or cartridge with some of the cheaper juice I have around. Stale, burnt, foggy, gross. I am at a bit of a loss. Ideas?

I doubt you did anything wrong other than load a carto up with new juice you haven't tried. On your next purchase get a drip tip, they're cheap and you can drip a few drops through them onto the atomizer to test new liquids without filling up a carto.

As far as your BWB juices, if you just got them set them aside for a week or two then come back to them. They are mixed to order and more than likely just need time to mature and come alive, many custom mixed juices are like this. Your cheap juices you referred to are probably Dekang which is premixed so they won't need that extra time.
