I'm not trying to be a doomsayer. I'm just a bit concerned, mostly because I WANT to order my new e-cig this weekend. I was going to order a 510, but now I think I'd be better off scraping up some extra money and getting a VP2 or a Janty Stick with extra accessories and as many atomizers as I can afford, since those would be the one thing I couldn't make myself.

I've tried to quit smoking countless times over the last couple of decades for one reason or another, but I could never shake the habit. My wife and kids are after me to quit for health reasons, and while I want to make them happy, I know deep down that I can't quit because I don't really want to. I like smoking. So I know that the only way I will finally be free of cigarettes is with some sort of e-cig. I've been researching my choice and had finally decided what to order when I read that thread and got concerned.

Hopefully it won't be as big a deal as it potentially could be. It's sad to think that the government could take this option away from us. For me, it would mean going right back to cigarettes, and I really don't want to do that. My family would also kill me, then bury me in the back yard.

Bah, I'll just resort to making juice by snus.

I read that thread, and I immediately thought "If the worst happens, I am totally doing this."

I've been going through the DIY forum looking for other things I could do myself, and I've covered everything except for the atomizers.

Howdy Vicks, it's been a while.

My opinion is since Phillip Morris is backing the FDA on this, they're just figuring out a way to share the wealth.

The American Food & Drug Administration announced today that they will be lifting any and all bans on electronic cigarettes. In what is being called a win for America, the FDA is allowing electronic cigarettes to be imported once again, but blocking shipments of "nic juice", as its known to the lovers of these fine devices. To ensure quality and protection for all Americans, the FDA is requiring that all nicotine derived solutions are made using tobacco from American owned companies.

The FDA believes this process will minimize potential problems, while benefiting the US economy. To increase your enjoyment of vaporizing a nicotine solution, Philip Morris has already proposed some additives into the solution, which they assure everyone have been thoroughly tested.

This message brought to you by Camel SNUS Juice.

Something like that?

Now now, lets be truthful.

The reality is, the FDA would be at fault for your murder. Atleast imo. :D

Something to think about. Try building the NicoStick. You can build it for less than $5.00 in less than an hour. I got my batteries for about $2.75 each. That leaves just the atomizers and juice to buy, and a battery lasts me 2+ days on a charge.

If I had it to do over again, in an environment where a ban is somewhat possible, I would definitely buy a battery mod that is compatible with the 510 atomizer. Then I'd buy a bunch of the new longer lasting 510 atomizers, and buy a couple of liters of unflavored juice with a very high nicotine content.

Dammit Jim! I'm a substation designer, not an e-cig... maker... guy....

(Sorry, had to. :) )

But now you've given me something to seriously consider. Thanks much.

It's not too late. I have a NicoStick for my 4081 and 401. As soon as one of my 510 batteries die, I'll build one for my 510.

I already have 30 manual batteries in the freezer, so I'm pretty much along for the ride now.
But if they don't get banned, I may be selling some 510 batteries relatively cheap.
:)

Life is too short to let others dictate it to you. Your health and well-being is more important and the rewards of quitting today and switching to e-cig will be returned to those who know you and care about you.

They've been arguing this debate for well over a year now, and ppl are still buying e-cigs and supplies.

Besides, once it's yours, it's yours. Possession is 9/10th's of the law. There are ppl in the U. S. who are making them and others who are learning how to make their own PV's out of things you can buy at the auto store. And as far a nicotine goes, the worst they could do is force them to label it and put a limit on the amount of mg.s allowable.

If an atomizer only lasted 2 mos. and you bought 12 of them, they would last you 2 yrs, if they lasted for 6 mos. you would have enough to last you for 6 years! Some people have said, if you take care of them, they have lasted them for 1 year. (No dripping them and keeping the wick moist) That'd be 12 years! By then, either they'll have it all settled or you may not even need e-cigs any more, who knows!!

An e-cig can also be used to vape zero nicotine with food grade vegetable glycerin (VG), which IS FDA approved.

Go for it!! It'll all be sooo worth it!!!
A Long Life, Happiness and Good Health.....is priceless

Using a PV has been a real blessing in my life and in the lives of many, many countless others.

Did you mean no dropping them?

Because dripping on an atomizer will never cause it any harm.
You might, of course, flood your atomizer this way, but then you just blow it out.
No harm no foul.

But dripping COULD screw up automatic batteries if juice gets past the atomizer.
Although that has never happened to me yet.

Right, not dropping them or roughing them around is what I meant, Thanks for the clarification

I know someone did, but don't know who. I think it was just ahead of its time. No one really cared years ago.

Didn't they try, and come out with something REALLY crappy?

RJR came out with a cigarette that was more akin to a traditional vaporizer. It heated tobacco to produce the vapor, but they never caught on.
