nice report, seems well grounded and documented.

wish there were more of this type of publicity.

This is in line with what I believe
quote from report:
____________________________________________________________________________________
“Harm reduction” does not mean “harmless.” All of these products, including the pharmaceutical
nicotine products pose more of a potential health risk than usually accepted in other consumer
products. None are risk free. It is only in comparison to cigarettes that they can be considered very low
risk.
Nicotine addicts, but it is the other toxins in cigarette smoke, when inhaled deep into the lung, that
kill.
All of the 480,000 estimated tobacco-attributable deaths each year in the USA are due to a single
tobacco product – the cigarette.6
Deaths from all other tobacco products are so low in number and so
hard to distinguish from background that they are not tracked by our federal agencies. Simply changing
the mantra from a “tobacco free society” to a “smoke-free society” would align tobacco control policy
with the science and evidence base.

Someone posted this in the comments section. I'm guessing that it's satirical, but then ... in places, it's hard to tell. I broke it just in case anyone thinks it might need to be (Title: "To Defend E-Cigarettes, Please Ban Them.")

I don't think it's worthy of much discussion. Just a chuckle, maybe even a guffaw.

R Street Institute - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is an interesting read, for the curious who aren't yet familiar w/ the org.

There's already a thread on the Oregon vaping ban legislation (HR 4115) and the public hearing that was held at
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...t-decisions-about-your-vaping-being-made.html

I'm reposting Nitzkin's testimony on that thread, and I urge an admin to close this thread.

If "news" is about legislation, please post it in the "legislative news" thread.

And if a thread is already started on the legislation, please post it as a reply in that thread (instead of creating another duplicative thread). There are so many bills that have been introduced in 2014 that we (i.e. ECF members) need to do a better job managing our communications about legislation.
