I'm thinking about picking up a Tesla Three to have something cheap for knocking around, but am a bit confused on how it works. My understanding was that it is just an unregulated mod with safety features. But it has a two-cell LiPo battery while the maximum output voltage is only 4.2 volts, not 8.4 volts. Or are they are connected in parallel?

The manual doesn't have any good information, and the few reviews I've seen aren't clear on this either.

So does it function like a mechanical mod, where the power will decrease as the battery voltage drops, or does it stay at 4.2 volts through the full charge (i.e. are the batteries connected in series and the mod bucks the voltage down to 4.2)?

I have one. Its one though mod. To this date. Its been dropped from 4 ft 30 plus times. 8 ft 4 times. Dunked in a cup of coffee. Dunked in the lake and still fires perfectly. Its wired in series and keeps a darn near perfect 4.2v till the batts die. Not sure what the max voltage is i forget the specs. It will last all day firing at .2 though.
Also it's a safe regulated mod
