Hello again ECF people :) I am new to the DIY ejuice scene, and so far I am VERY please with results, but my new found addiction has brought to light some struggles...

I can mix 4, 6, maybe more new flavors in a day when I am busy with it. I picked up this tiny little drip atty ( black metal tube with a non rebuildable coil and wick, screws directly onto a 510 connection) to test the flavors when they are first mixed just to get a sense of where I am at. It does ok, if you take it off and blow it out between flavors.. kinda sorta...

However, I have found that testing anything with cinnamon, menthol, or strong citrus, the flavor tends to linger a while and I know that I am not getting a true full picture of what I have produced. Which I have just proven to myself by taking juice that was (what I believed) not so great, placed it in a new tank, and ta da!! tasted very different..

My question or questions are this, is there some type of drip set up that would allow me to swap wicking material between flavor tests, without spending a bunch, or should I consider attempting to build something (scares me to think what kind of flame throwing, arc reactor, flux capacitor device I would end up with...lol)

I would like something I can use atop my reg 510 connection that I already have, if it even exists, just want to keep it simple, as i've found, simple = low maintenance and ease of use...

Currently using an MVP or my original Joytech ego-c upgraded bat :)

Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated...

Strong flavors like menthol will linger in any atty or tank, I'll keep a separate one for the menthol and mints.

One trick to clear flavors between tastings is to vape some unflavored (you do have some base mix made up...:)) e-liquid. It may have a very slight peppery taste, and is a nice change of pace to clear your palate.

the atty you have will work fine. I use just 5 or 6 drops of pg into the atty in between flavors. blow out the pg into a paper towel and that gets rid of most old flavors. if very strong might take a few times. guess you could use base as well. should clear it out enough to test next flavors. works for me. easier than replacing cotton each flavor.

I use a simple dripping RDA to test DIY juice - the Igo-W. You can get it for $10-15, it's a very easy beginner build, and you can swap out the cotton in seconds between flavors. I actually wick mine with mesh instead of cotton - with that, you can just rinse off and dry burn to clear the old flavor out instead of changing the wick.

If you stay in the 1.5 to 2 ohm range with your builds, it will 1) be pretty similar to any non-rebuildable tank or atty you normally use, and 2) you won't be ANYWHERE near the danger zones you sound like you're worried about. Just make sure to check the ohms before you use it to make sure you don't have a short (which can happen if your coil is touching any metal part of the atty other than the connection screws) and you'll be totally fine.

What kind of device/battery are you running on? Do you use the ego batteries or something with variable power?

Hmm, don't really test flavors any more, and my test batches are mixed at 100 ml now.

A good dripper is what I use to sample a new recipe. Throw in a fresh wick and get a fairly true flavor. Course flavor development can take a few days to fully mature.

The most batches I make at once is three, don't have enough glassware to make more, but when I make three batches it is usually 400, 200 and a 100 ml batch.

Can you please tell me where I can buy one or give link, I have been looking for something to test flavors and everytime I go to a smoke shop, they try to tell me I need to spend a lot of money and need new battery. I have 2 mvp and some 1100 mah , and vv batteries.

I dont mess around with any of that..Is simple and easy enough to put a tiny drop on your finger and put it on your lip..With that ya get a taste for it if you will like it or not..I dont have time for all the fuss of changing wicks tanks or anything else to see if i will like the flavor i just made..I also steep my juices for 5 to 7 days before using them..So just one little drop on the lip will give you some what of a flavor..

Sure, 101vape.com has it here for $10.99. You'll also need some wire (100 feet for $6.89 at Amazon will last you for a VERY long time). You can wick it with sterile cotton balls from CVS (in the first aid section) or steel mesh, which most vape stores and sites will carry (101vape seems to be out at the moment).

It will work great with your MVPs.

Here's a video that does a review and shows how you build it (she's using the Igo-L, which is pretty much the same. The Igo-W has 3 posts instead of 2, but you'll just use 2 of them and ignore the one on the other side). Take a look and you will can see if it's something you'll be able to figure out. I like to use 10 wraps on a 3/32" drill bit to get to 2 ohms, which should be right where you want it.

When she finishes making the coil, she puts it on a mech mod without testing it - not a wise move. You'll want to put it on your MVP and see how many ohms it is. I like to use 10 wraps on a 3/32" drill bit to get to 2 ohms, which should be right where you want it.

If you don't think you're ready for that, then using the dripping atomizers you have and soaking them overnight in vodka (or everclear, if it's legal in your state) is probably the best way to go. There's really no option for easier flavor changes without taking the next step to a rebuildable. To change flavors quickly with something like this, you just pull the top off, take the cotton out of the coil, rinse it off and dry it, then put a new piece of cotton in.
