The proposed smoking ban in Texas is being revisited in the Special Session.

It doesn't include e-cigs, so selfishly I can't help but feel that the best possible outcome is that it gets passed and signed. However, best of luck to those who are opposing the bill.

There going a bit nuts with this smoking thing, its all freaking politics too, I think we should put it out there that No government officials like senators, and congress should be allowed to smoke any longer, none of them if this is what there gonna do to people, I mean Christ next there gonna tell us when we can take a XXXX

You are exactly right Sherid. Most AG's,legislators,and city officials have no clue about ecigs other than knowing about the FDA press release of 2009. It is a knee jerk reaction to just add ecigs to the ban.
Once an ecig ban is passed in one city or county,every other city and county begin considering adding them to the ban.

It's no secret that I'm not a fan of far-reaching smoking bans. They become emboldened with their "success" and continue to reach even farther to the point where they (1) ban smoking outdoors, and (2) ban things that kind of sort of look like smoking, neither of which is scientifically based or has anything to do with direct threats to public health.

If you haven't already seen it, you should watch the video that Sherid linked to. It's hilarious . . . and, sadly, all too true.
