I just received mine in the mail and I'm having a problem putting it together. I know, noob, bear with me. Here's a pic of how I put it together.

But when I try to insert a lubed-up carto, the rings just slide into the tank. Am I doing something wrong? If so, please take pity and tell me how to do it right. Thanks in advance.

I agree, grommet tanks are a MAJOR pain. I no longer use them at all.

You can convert your grommet tank to a regular tank that uses traditional metal endcaps here: Aluminum Caps for 3ml and 6ml PolyPro Tanks

The polypro tanks sold here are the same tanks you have, but Ray also sells the metal endcaps for those owners that want them. And you want them. :p

Thanks for the advice Bad, and thank you also for the really informative blogs and commentary generally. It's definitely been a help. I'm wondering whether I should have just ordered my tank from Valley View in the first place. The texas tanks were a bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for, I guess. I also took another of your suggestions on another thread and got an IBTanked. I really like that one. The thingy works great for getting my vg heavy juices wicked into the carto.

there was a video ay the vapedudes site on the assembly. have you checked there?

I followed Ron's directions and got em working. I'm still deciding if its worth it to buy acrylic caps. I'm thinking I might save that $, deal with the hassle, and put the cash towards a plunger kit.

I would do just the opposite, but that's me. Have fun with those grommets and plunger.

Sigh,

I wish I would have read this thread before I bought this....

Looks kinda cool, but the grommets! They leak. Can't really use the tank filler tool because the grommet lets a lot of the fluid leak out the bottom. Also, my carto keeps flooding on this. I am thinking it's because the air pressure is wrong inside the tank.

Do you think the end caps listed above might solve the problem?

This tank was only $15. Not sure if the $10 price on the link is for a pair or each cap!!!

The metal (replacement) endcaps in the link will not fit or work on your tank. It's a hand-blown pyrex tank and only the grommets supplied with those tanks will "work". It sounds like the grommets aren't keeping a nice seal and not allowing negative pressure to be present in the tank, causing your cartos to flood. I'm sorry, but I don't know of an acceptable solution to your problem with that tank.
