There's no way you guys are going to believe this. (probably not)

My wife went up to the Old Timers Fatality Days Festivities up in town because some of my smaller grandkids are here and of course they have to ride all the rides that the little carnival has set up and my wife needed to be there to take pics and visit with everybody in the gol'danged town. I don't think too many people talked to my wife when she was a child because she sure likes to talk now and is making up for it. (Or she was just grocery shopping at Wally World)

Anyhow, I was on the phone with LD and told him I had to go because it was about time for her to get home and I needed to go downstairs and turn on the outside lights for her. And right about then she pulled in and parked her snazzy car in the pole barn. ('73 VW bug)

So she starts walking toward the house and we both heard this kind of a growl (meow) . So of course I went back in the house (RAN) figuring that if this thing was going to eat one of us it might as well be her because I have so much mowing to do.

She gets in the house and called me a bunch of real bad names for leaving her outside alone with some kind of a monster ...(not helping tote the groceries in) which I denied doing and explained I had a cake in the oven I had needed to check on and that in reality I'm the macho, hero type of guy who fears nothing!

To prove my point I got my 9mm semi-automatic that has a 30 round clip (camera) and went out to face the creature. (hold still, I can't focus)

As I got near her car I discovered what it was.

It was a damned cat! (Sweet lil Puddy Tat,, with 2 S's)

That thing had got up under her car somewhere while she was in town and rode home with her under her car. (Well,,,, perhaps it was in a cute little Easter basket on the front seat)

My fearless dog Chance (yea right) was with me and when he saw the cat he ran back to the porch and climbed in a cardboard box that she had used for some of her rocks she had brought home from Arkansas. (he had to go pee on sumpen)

Chance and I seem to have a lot in common. (yea, can't neither one of them sing worth a hoot)

    Good Morning Everybody!

Gummy Bear, Mrs TT had a good laugh at your pic (as did I) and it was so nice to see her laugh first thing in the morning. You know she is a stern, prissy, slightly mean kind of woman ... I guess we guys call them "wives" ... anyhow, thank you for making her laugh. Maybe she'll keep on doing it all day .... nahh.

Well, for all my newly acquired Weather Watching friends, the temp here is going to be in the low to mid 90's with a 40 to 60% chance of rain every day for most of the next week, dropping down to 40% late in the week!

I got an e-mail this morning from a buddy up in Indiana (he's my age and wears a hearing aid, has plastic teeth, wears glasses and probably takes ...... every day) and he said they were having a severe drought with very little rain since May and that nobody has had to mow their lawns in a long time. He said their lakes and water reservoirs were real low. Exactly the same thing we went through for a couple years here in East Texas.

I'm sure as heck not making light of this because I know how bad it can be for ranchers, farmers and it doesn't help the forest fire situation a danged bit. I hope this drought ends right away! Even sweet Sdh being able to stick her little, bitty hands down in the cracks in her yard. That's bad.

I guess we're going out to the lake this morning. The last stragglers are leaving today and I'm sure going to miss all of them. We've had some coming, some going, some going and coming back ... and its been a lot of fun having all of them around. I know the kids all had a good time enjoying the lake and swimming and playing in the water and on the boats and going to the Old Timers day activities. I really can't wait until we have them all back again.

Well guys, have a great Sunday and I'll be talking to you a little later!

    TT

And morning to you TT and have a good day.

Well it really needs to rain. Son was here last night and him & DIL used the pool. Son connected one of the cleaners and turned it on right before he got out. He just forgot to put the darn thing in the water!!! So pump is on a timer and kicked in this morning and guess what?! You got it...part of the yard got a good drink of chlorinated water!!
I, of course, had to drag the hose out there to put water in the pool. :grr:

Perhaps it was those Bats that ran him off before he could put the thing in the water. He may have been running for his life at the time.

Now TT, you know that Mrs TT is far from prissy lol She does a fine job of keeping you in line and that may take a little bit of a mean streak :D

We went through years of drought like that too and were in an emergency situation with the water. I do not envy the folks going through that now at all.

I am feeling a bit better this morning and thank goodness. My sisters neighbors went on vacation for the week and it has been planned for months that I would feed/water/care for their dog. He is a Pit Bull and a big guy at that. He looks ferocious but is a big old sweet teddy bear. I am the only one that is not afraid of the poor guy so I volunteered for the job. I have cool whip bowls frozen with ice that I am getting ready to take over and give to him now along with a few toys that I picked up for him. He looks exactly like Petey from Little Rascals :)

I hope that everyone has a great day and is able to stay cool.

Buddie doesn't get along with most people...side effect of being abused before we got her.

There are people that she will tolerate that can take care of her needs, but only one friend she totally loves. I tend to depend on this friend if son isn't going to be around. And I soooo appreciate her!!!

That's funny. The Pit Bull that I am caring for name is Buddy :) My male CAG's name is Buddy too. He was a rescue and I did not name him.

Buddy (dog) SO appreciated the ice water today! It was 102 when I was there. I was going to soak him with the hose but he is afraid of the hose :(

Weather Report From The Foothills of South Carolina lol
We are going down to 79 degrees on Wednesday and not going back above 80 through the weekend! :D That's more like it.

ETA- If I ever really needed a bird sitter, I totally trust my Avian Vet.
We affectionately call him the "Bird Whisperer" lol With all of the pet friendly hotels, it has not been needed.
