I do too, Fran. Have fed and read about them for years...and noted, as Salem mentioned, how they do return from year to year. I have recognized a few by their singular "imperfections" and am always happy to see them.

I used to participate in the tracking of their return each spring - a website that documented their migration upward from South America to here and all the way to Canada.

Only the Ruby-throats here, though. So many amazing species around the country, the world, though. They are all incredible and amazing little creatures for certain.

We do get the rare visitors that are not normally found here. Sometimes they get a little off course. When i lived in Charleston, tropical storms and the like would bring types other than the Rubys into SC.

Good Morning FranC and hi everyone!

I had every intention of being on here last night, but a lady we know called and needed some help getting her husband to the hospital. She's unable to drive after dark and he has a history of large kidney stones and the poor guy was in tremendous pain. So we got that taken care of and had to wait while he was being admitted and she got him settled, then we took her back to her home and by the time we got back to our house we were ready to call it a night.

Rain is in our forecast for today and tomorrow, but I'm done with the mowing and ready to kick back and take it easy for a couple days. We're planning a fish fry out at the lake on Sunday for all the mothers and will probably take off for Arizona on Monday ... maybe Tuesday. I'll have my laptop with me and will stay in touch.

And so far, that's all I know ... but the day is still early and we'll see what it brings.

Hope everyone has a happy Friday.

    TT

Morning TT! I'm glad you have your 'chores' done and can look forward to a nice vacation. Have fun at the Mother's Day Fish Fry! That sounds like fun. I would have to fill up on the "sides", as I don't eat fish. But it sounds like a great time and I'm sure everybody is looking forward to it. We have reservations at a nice restaurant for mother's day and will be taking my mom and dad and my mother-in-law.
Tonight DH and I are going to see the musical CATS. I've seen it a couple of times, once on Broadway and once in NC, but it never gets old. Maybe it is because I am a crazy cat lady, but it is one of my favorite productions.

    Good morning ladies!

Nursie T, how could anybody like cats so much and not eat fish? I mean, cats love fish so you should too!!!

Hey, that "Cats" production. Isn't that topless? I probably need to see that!

    TT

LOL TT. Maybe you are thinking of a different show?? These "cats" are fully clad... in fur and leotards :D
And, no, I don't eat fish, even though there are a lot of things about me that are very feline. For example, I love to find a sunny spot and take a nice cat-nap. But I don't eat fish, hack up furballs or pee in a sandbox
