Good morning, Squid Face TT - hope you feel better when you come to later this morning. :)!
    Good morning, Fran!

Dies, LD - got my Phoenix 1.5ml 2.4-2.6Ω cartos in yesterday.

First one was an epic fail - permanently burnt the wick (didn't think you could do that, but leave it to me) on the fifth draw. I didn't pop the coil so I cleaned - wick remains are still charred in appearance and taste - meh. I use 70/30VG, clipped wick as has been suggested.

Second one, clipped wick inside the cup - better, but not great. Can't get the watts above 6.6 which I can with other 2.5Ω atties/cartos (this one measured in it at 2.4Ω by the way), but beyond that, can't take long deep draws without that threatening to burn taste creeping in. And now, on second fill, tasting funky.

And the OD is too large for a standard tank cap - although I saw that Cyrus did mod one in the other vendor's thread to a "traditional" tank and grommet system and claims to have had good success.

I am thinking that CE 1s,2s, 3s, Fluxos, Phoenix, et al must be for a certain breed of vaper and style of vaping - a breed and style other than my own - and I am just going to have to live with the fact that they are not for me having tried so many of them since their first appearance on the scene and none of them having worked to my liking.

I will still play around with them as it is my nature to do so - maybe even dewick it entirely - but I am not impressed overall. Unfortunately.

C'est la vie and see y'all later! :)

    Ahhh...Fran.

You and I have been around the block a few times, together, now, haven't we?

You know my tastes - and you know I am not against a little tweaking if the end-result is worth it. Alas, that has not been the case so far with these.

I am getting to that old-vaper's place of sticking with what I've got cause it works. Kinda sad, in a way - but less expensive. This year I might even save money.

I gotta hit the RW stuff; I will see you later today.

    Silly Bear reporting for duty,

Die, Have you tried Bamboo yarn for a wick? I haven't yet but someone said they have a better taste.

Sorry Gummy i was not paying attention on last page or two although i responded just not to the Bamboo yarn wick mention.
No this i have not tried with the Nova or anything else.
When you get yours let me know what you find out please if its not working properly for you as some folks it is and some it is not.

I opened another pack last night. First 3 were all bad. I put in a support ticket. It's frustrating, I know. But, I can gaze longingly at... ummm... GET THAT DANGED CAMERA GOING!!! :p

    LOL, good one LD!!

My first ever order from Vapor Junction was for some "early" CE2's and coming from V4L's cool carts, the CE2's were pretty great at the time and for a while they got even better. And now, it seems like they've gone back the other direction. We never had to work on the old ones like you do these newer ones - although there were some things you could do to improve them a bit. But they worked right out of the box.

Any more, I am so sold on the duel coils that DeXTeR sells and between my E-Powers, the Buzz's and my GoGo batteries ... I've found some good combinations that work for me and the wife. I usually have one tank going on something ...and I have some 3.5ml clear duel coils (proprietary for the GoGo batt's) from another supplier that are great if I'm doing something where I want a little extra juice in a carto.

Vapor Junction and duel coils keep me smiling!

I still got 50+ of the second run CE2s so that is what I'll be mainly using.

I do have some duels that I use off and on.

I love my CE2's and I've never had to fiddle with them but I'm one of lucky one's I guess. The next big thing I'm waiting on is the atty tank that Cisco hinted at during Vapebash. I really want a good, affordable atty tank. Rebuidable atty tanks are great and all but I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff for something I may not like. Not to mention they're not easy to come by and I'm impatient. The Nova looked promising but I decided to forgo buying one because I didn't have much faith in the design. Turns out I was right.

    Hiya salem, FranC and everybody!

Actually salem, the sun is shining here at the moment. I think the rain is supposed to come in this afternoon. I checked Intellicast and there is no rain in the area at the moment, so I think I'll be able to go out and do a few things. I need to wash my tractor and lawnmower (I like to keep things clean!!).

The wife says that after I went to bed last night (I was there early) that we had a bad storm blow through and she could hear some small hail hitting the house. I never heard a thing!

Soooo ... I think I'll go outside and play for a while, but I am going to take it a lot easier today.

Camera works, sweetheart, but there's no sound...

And what is Pokey without sound? That's right - quiet.

And we can't be having that, now, can we? ;) :)

    Hi jj2, Pokey and Mod!

LOL, I still have some of those second run CE2's also ... I guess I'm saving them for emergencies, like if I accidently let myself run out of the duel coils. Ya never know!

    TT

Got a first run, new, and a second one, new, tucked in the back of the vaping drawer. Make that one of the vaping drawers, rather and hung on to my 808s (the original ones) for nearly two years before PIFing them. Gotta keep these CE2s a little bit longer as well. They are old friends, lol.

I did save an original V4L hard cap carto (pre-cool cart and pre Pokey knowing what an Ω was, lol) - with the extra inner rings, as well. Just because. :)

Thunderstorms for us this afternoon - woot!!!

    I'll see y'all a bit later. :)
