Well, we made it through the day. I hope I can write this in a way that makes good sense ... our lady friend who passed away was 77 years old and the kind of person who loved to laugh and have fun. She didn't want a bunch of sad, bawling people at her funeral and was adamant that she did not want a traditional funeral.

What she asked was that all of her friends and family have a party, and that's what it was supposed to be. A party. Nothing else. Afterward the pastor of her church officiated at a closed casket burial in the church cemetery. Her intentions were that it was to be as painless and civilized for everyone as possible. She left with dignity.

Okay, Mrs TT was planning on going to Mason, Texas with two of our daughters but with the RV Park on the Llano River being closed down combined with the passing of our friend we had come on home and brought the trailer with us. Mrs TT has found a place that has cabins in southern Arkansas and she is going to take the girls there. They can swim, hunt for rocks and crystals, there is wildlife to view and the Arkansas diamond field is only fifty miles away. I think they'll have a good time there.

Oh, and I've been told I get to pay for everything including the girls food.

I'm such a lucky guy!

So, did people have fun at the party?? I know that is what your friend wanted, and I hope people were able to do so. I imagine it caused people to feel "guilty" if they enjoyed themselves.

I went to my Chevy dealer last week and they had a Keurig in the waiting area. I tried a Green Mountain brand and it was the nastiest coffee that I have ever tasted! It was that bad! It kind of reminded me of the coffee that I had in Jamaica (shudder). It was STRONG but it was also just bad tasting. Kind of like strong but the type of strong you get from letting coffee sit on the burner all day. I got way past ever wanting a Keurig

Pad, I have never heard of a mod making a draw airy or tight lol That is normally more to do with the carto/atty that you use.

I spent all day with my mom taking her shopping and I am wiped out. I will try and make it back later though.

I've generally not been very happy with Green Mountain's offerings. I think Nantucket Blend is the most popular K-cup and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why.

The only time i actually wonder about variable is when you guys talk about them. I've heard good things about buzz but i don't know anything about them.

Well Nursie T, all these people were friends and relatives of Alice and although there were a few introductions most of the folks knew each other. So there was a lot of "visiting" and catching up. But I can't say it was a sad affair either ... just a lot of nice people getting together to celebrate the life of a friend. It was certainly not what I'm used to, but what keeps coming to my mind is how civilized it was. It was different though, but what she wanted.

LOL, yeah, Mrs TT and those girls ... I'm a soft touch when it comes to the three of them. With Mrs TT's health being as it is, I think its really fine that they are going to take off like that and have some fun and get to visit and do things the three of them like to do.

Yeah, I get to foot the entire bill, but I guess that's what Daddy's are for. I'm happy to do it for them.

On the subject of coffee, for a long time now we have ordered our coffee from a place in New Mexico that sells a coffee blended with pinon nuts and we really don't want anything but that. I think it was kgj that recommended the place to us and we've been buying from them ever since.

You guys know that back when I was working I worked and traveled all over the world and drank coffee in many, many places. Other than this coffee from New Mexico, there is only one other coffee that really sticks in my mind. In Venezuela they grow coffee but its a small crop and they don't export much of it. It is so incredibly delicious that its impossible to describe. You'd have to try it to understand what I'm talking about.

I did some checking on the Net and some is being imported here in the States, and here's one thing I read about it ...

"Venezuela’s finest coffees are a class of coffees known as Maracaibos, named after the port through which they are shipped, are grown in the western part of the country near the border with Columbia.

The Maracaibos coffees include several distinguished coffees such as Trujillo, Tachira, and Merida which exhibit classic Venezuelan coffee qualities including a sweet and slightly rich flavor with a balanced acidity."

In thinking about this, it might be the "balanced acidity" that makes this coffee so good. But it is exceptionally good!

I remember you telling me about that place you order from... I think I bookmarked it. Wonder if they have K-cups?? I really do like the convenience of the Keurig. Every cup of coffee is fresh... I don't like brewed coffee after it has sat more than an hour. I'm not sure what Salem had but the Sumatran Reserve by Green Mtn is not "old" or bitter tasting. But, it is very rich. And delicious

I get some at work sometimes you need to "eat" with a spoon...I think TT had the other version that first hospitalization - the one where they just wave the beans over the water?
