Hubby spent some time in the south in his younger days. Texas and Florida. He never developed a liking for grits.

He probably never had them made right. Slathered in butter with runny eggs, they are delicious!

It took me a long time to get the nerve to try them. My mom still never has but, if she did, she would put milk and sugar on them lol

There are grits and there are grits...so many kinds hard to categorize them all, not talking recipes, necessarily, but how they are ground and from what kind of corn.

I have native friends who eat them like Cream of Wheat - sugared, buttered and creamed. I like Cream of Wheat that way. But I like my girts savory. :)

Same thing with rice - not a rice pudding/sweet rice person either though I grew up with that around, as well.

Bread pudding? Now that's some good stuff when done right.

Food talk - I must be hungry, LOL!

    Hi Everyone!!!

I went out to mow the yard this morning but the grass was still so wet I couldn't do anything, so I puttered around until about noon and started mowing then. Finished around 6 pm - and I'm half-way done! I can polish it off tomorrow.

So I came in and was drink a bunch of iced tea and was vaping and, I hadn't showered yet, but a Pokey nap was knocking on my eyeballs, so I got in the recliner and took a fine nap.

Woke up at 8 pm when my BIL called and we chatted a while then after that I got a shower and then ...

    I was hungry!!!

So I prowl around in the fridge and freezer and found some Tyson Chicken Patties and thought that sounded pretty good. So I thought I'd better read the instructions so I'd know how long to boil them and guess what? You don't have to boil them at all. You can microwave them! So that's what I did. I don't think I microwaved them long enough because they came out kinda soggy, not nice and crisp like when my wife makes them. But I put ketchup on them and that worked. Ketchup fixes any food and I'll bet famous chef's all over the world use it.

So, that was my day. I need to get some bills paid on-line, so I'm getting out of here for a few minutes, but I'll be back!

    TT

LOL, jj2, my wife gave me explicit instructions to not touch the toaster over!

    I don't know why.

Well, I guess everyone has gone to bed.

Wonder what you guys are doing?

    Maybe I don't need to know ....

    Good night all.

    TT

Well TT since you asked. Worked the past three nights. :) It seems when I work second shift it kinda lingers into third shift. I don't care for overtime but I end up getting it. I have allot of projects I am trying to do. Yeah right! Really, I am slow but need to start ripping up carpets and screwing down floors. (Don't ask!) Plus you know I have at least 60 tomato plants that need my daily love. (Plus other garden plants.)

The house called me this weekend and said my boys never cleaned up after themselves. I will be cleaning tomorrow. Now you know why I don't work full-time. I would be eating, sleeping, cleaning and working. No fun time at all.

Take care you fabulous green furry loveable bird! :)

    Greetings to all.

Hey Ever1ast ... is that you I see lurking down there?

    How ya doing buddy?

    Its been a long time!!!

    TT

lol Hey TT! - Yeah it's me. Didn't mean to disappear on you earlier. I started to post and then got a hot call here at work so I had to go, and never got to finish it. I'm back to working the graveyards again (it was my choice to come back to nights) and I'm finding I have a little more time to spend on the forums now. Havent been frequenting ECF much lately...you all know how the drama can get here at times. So I stayed away for a while. But I figured I'd drop by the old neighborhood and see how everyone's been doing. Glad to see some familiar faces around here :D
So how's everybody been? Anything exciting going on around here in my absence?
