You know in this humid, rather wet climate we have in East Texas, everything grows real fast. Weeds, tallow trees, there's even bamboo growing real thick on some adjoining land to mine. So every so often the power company has to come through and mow under their power lines to keep the power from shutting off during storms. This is the only time I get nervous about the power company.
When they are mowing is their best opportunity to find out where I've strung off their power line and they chop my lines down and grind them up and send me nasty letters. Then I have to go to town and "pick up" more wire and run another line.
But it doesn't cost much. Especially if somebody left the wire laying around.
Oh, and speaking of storms, its thundering to the north of us right now and I just got a "Complete Signal Loss" on Dish TV. The television usually goes out first, then we get Severe Storm Warnings on the weather radio, then the power goes out ... and I take a nap.
That's the way it is here on the Frontier!
And little Max, our Yorky, just came in and is hanging out by my right foot. So I know its going to storm!
