Hey guys so I have been making a flavor that contains the TFA flavor "Gummy Candy" but I bought the one that contains Triacetin.

I was wondering two things.

How does the PG version of the flavor concentrate taste vs the one with Triacetin?

Is it pretty close? I mean what is the Triacetin doing for the flavor anyways, making it sweeter?

Also, if I use the version with Triacetin (which is said to degrade or crack plastic tanks) can I not store it in plastic dripper bottles either?

Any info you guys may have on this would be great! Thanks.

Triacetin is a plasticizer and it is used in cases where flavoring manufacturers cannot extract the flavor molecules in high enough concentration vs just plain pg, vg, or alc based extractions. Others with chemisty knowledge can correct me on this, but that is my basic understanding.

Personally, anytime I vape a juice with triacetin in the flavoring I get canker sores in my mouth. So I must be allergic to it. I can vape any other juice types and be fine but any juice with triacetin flavorings cause this issue for me. Granted thats just my own personal experience so take it with a grain of salt. However I have narrowed triacetin down as the sole cause in my case.

Triacetin and any juices made with it will crack plastic tanks and eat thru some types of plastic bottles. So its best to use glass. Syringes are best flushed with clean water immediately after dispensing these flavorings or juices made with them.

Personally, I dont like the idea of triacetin and dont think it should be used in any flavorings made for vaping. If it can destroy plastic it cant be a good thing. My personal opinion so that take with a grain of salt as well.

What I can tell you is the version with Triacetin is much more flavorful. I have both but only ever used the PG version and it kinda sucks imho. The difference in strength with the non PG type is night and day. The Triacetin smells more fruity and I bet it tastes much better. However I use so many other flavorings and mainly vape berries so I never got around to doing a comparison. I have just about every TFA flavor made and a good number of them are just not that great for vaping. Many will use them anyway but those are the people who make juice for personal profit more so then anything.
