Right behind you...
For me, that's far too low a wattage for the amount of airflow the TFV4 has and a 5 or 6 wrap 26g coil.

That said, there's no such thing as "best setting". What are YOU looking for? A cool vape? A mouth to lung vape? A lung hit? What PG/VG ratio is your juice? What type of juice (tobacco, fruit, bakery, custard)? Do you take long hits or short hits? What mod are you using it with?

The TFV4 is capable of much higher wattage but I am not sure about the single RBA. Look at Steam Engine as I am thinking you need a wrap or 2 less that should lower your ohms to .3 or .4 and crank your wattage up to between 35 and 50 still a low wattage setting compared to some of the available coils for this tank. I just received my dual coil RBA so I will be wrapping some coils today. I am thinking 4 spaced wraps on 24 gauge at 2.5 mm but need to plug it into steam engine as I am wanting a resistance of around .15 and will crank the wattage to 70 -80 once the coil is broken in.

The dual coil "R2" rba/rta for the TFv4 is excellent. Been vaping the heck out of it for a couple weeks now.
Don't be too shy about wicking some into the juice channels.
Any tips for wicking the dual coil RBA? Right now it just feels like I'm burning the cotton. Ive tried changing my wraps between 5-7 using 26ga kanthol, reading anywhere between .35 and .4 ohm.

For me the key is not using too much cotton, but still making sure it does occupy the juice channels just enough to prevent the tank from leaking while also keeping the cotton loose enough in there to soak up and feed the juice freely to the coil.
Definitely a balancing act building this tank, but once dialed in it's fantastic.
Rebuilding mine again tonight before flying out of town tomorrow a.m..

Yeah, each time I build on it, it gets better. Just not great yet. I would love if you could post a picture of your wicking on it. It would be super helpful. Thanks for the response.

I will. I was going to post some pics from last week, but I'd rather post from tonight's build, so I'll take some pics as a I go and post them here for you later this evening. Should be in next couple of hours.

Here's some shots from tonight...

Trimmed up just long enough to get some wicking into the channels. I sorta use the inside ring of the tank as a gauge for wick length.
(the cotton's not at all tight in the coil. I could just barely tip the mod by pulling a tail before they were clipped)

Then I juice the wicks just a little bit, so that they can be formed nicely towards the channels..

I use a metal dental pic to guide the wick to lie into the channels.

Another little drop of juice on each coil, and cap...

Been vaping it over two hours and it's been fantastic. No leaking and plenty of juice going to the coils. All buttoned up and vaping like a freight train.

.4Ω @ 45 watts.

I hope this is helpful.

That looks awesome!
I'm wondering if it is not meant to work with the tfv4 mini? The juice channel on that looks much larger on yours. My wicks keep drying up after 2-3 puffs. Also, I can't figure out how to add a picture from my phone. Aparently the pics I took are too big.
Ahh, you're using the R2 on the mini. I don't know whether or not the R2 deck is for use with the mini. I didn't think so since the R2 is a larger deck, but not sure.

I think that may be the case. I tried another build last night after looking at yours. I may end up buying a tfv4(non mini) just to use the dual coil RBA.

That build is looking real good. Definetly on the right track there.

Yeah, the R2 deck is what sold me on the TFv4. Just what I always wanted in an RTA.

That build I did last night is still going insanely strong, and not even a hint of leaking. I finally got this tank dialed in. I'm getting better hits off this tank w/ the R2 deck than I was getting even on my drippers. Huge vapor and flavor.

Thanks for your help. I'm going to try one more build on it before I conclude that it is just not meant for the tfv4 mini. I still have the Clapton RBA for the mini that I need to play around with. That's another convo for another thread.
