Works amazingly with the rba. I use 24ga Ti .24 ohm single coil wrapped at 2.5mm. Placed close enough to the airflow hole to restrict the flow just a little. It's never leaked, and I've never gotten a dry hit as the juice channels are massive. A full tank And one 18650 last me all day on my Evic vtc mini. I do vape 15nic...

What confuses me about tanks like this is what do you do with the coil head when it's spent ?. Seems like such a criminal waste to have to throw them away, which is what you'll have to do.
I've wondered that for a while. Seems like there would be some option to send a bunch of used coils of a certain type back and maybe get a free/discounted pack of new ones. No place around here to recycle them. Feel like some of them could be cleaned/rebuilt at manufacturer instead of all that waste. At least they could melt them down or something.

I've been using mine for just over a month and am still on my first tri-coil, but I only hit it for 2 - 4 hours a day. I hit it at 85 - 88 watts on my sig 100+ with .6 nic high vg juice and love it! I too use the band around the top to feel safe that the top fill is not going to accidently open.

Since I have been looking at getting a tc mod, was wondering if anybody is running it with coils for temp control and your opinion if it is an improvement? My B&M recommended getting the Smok TCT tank if I got the tc mod and wondering if that might be better for that. If not, I can see getting another TFV4 for switching flavors.

PPl are already in the process of tearing them down and rebuilding them. Just save your spent coils

I use their nickel 200 coil for 2 weeks wasn't too impressed the quad coil is where its at

Am I understanding right that you prefer the standard quad coil and not using tc over the nickel with tc?

When I got the TFV4, they said most preferred the tri coil, so I haven't even tried the quad yet. I will certainly have to give it a try before ordering more spare coils.

What are some opinions on this tank? Looks interesting to me.
It's now November 2015 and I'm sure you've decided to purchase the tank by now. It's the most versatile, sturdy, and multipurpose tank currently for sale. I don't care for Smoktech's other products so I'm surprised that the greatest tank we'll see around for a long time is make by the same company that produces some mediocre mods. I use the Triple Coil Heads or "TF-T3 Cores" which seem to produce consistently abundant vapor at lower wattages to prevent the tank from getting foggy and scorching hot to the touch. I Vape at 65-72W tops and chain vape, so I can't have the device melting for god's sake. There are more clouds are lower watts than the TF-T4 Cores, which run even hotter at the same wattage. I don't know why, but such technically similar coils in terms of specs, are miles apart. I'll admit the flavor given off from the T4's is something I never thought was possible or even important, but it is the main feature of that coil I think. Flavor and at VERY high watts, huge clouds to match. However, I am only after one thing and that is getting my nicotine fix and extraordinary vapor. This tank makes people look twice and sometimes give me looks as if I started a fire. That's how great the T3's are. However, some may say the triples are basically crappy versions of the T4's and last only 3 days before they die. I disagree and beleve if you use this tank as your primary, the coils cores will burn out in 3 days regardless and I think the way I vape (all day long) 3 days is longer life than I'd expect, especially while using 70% VG eliquid regardless of the tank or coil because PG gives me the sniffles and a runny nose. Max VG is perfect even if it kill my .5ohm Atlantis 2 coils in a full day of moderate usage. It's worth it because of my reaction to high levels of PG liquid. Anyway...Get the tank immediately, and just find the coil core or few coil cores that suit your needs best.

I run the TF-TI(Titanium Coil) around 425-470 on my RX-200, and the TF-Q4 around 70-85watts great vapes outstanding flavor, by far the best tank I have ever owned.:rickroll:

I'm just now getting into trying TC mode with an IPV D2 and haven't gotten around to trying it with the TFV4 since I have several tri coils to go through yet. Haven't even tried the quad coil since my vape shop recommended the tri coil for my vaping. I don't want to try TC and like it so much I won't want to go back to kanthal for the time it would take to use up my stock. I have been getting upwards of a month on a coil so far and still have 3 new ones in stock. And if I find I really like it in TC mode, I'd probably have to get a higher watt mod then the D2.

To add to the decision, I just picked up a Herakles Plus and so far would have to rank it right up there with the TFV4, but haven't tried it in TC either. Maybe I need to pick up a TC coil for both and a new mod to try them on as a Christmas present to me from me! Oh, the choices!

ETA: Another reason (excuse) to buy something for me.....December 23 is my 18 month anniversary date. Surely that is reason enough!

TFV4 is AWESOME!!! just threw in the brand new octuple fused clapton TF-T8 coils and I've hit 170 watts already without getting a burnt hit, and the flavor is competitive if not better than any of my RDA's, even at that 150+ watt range IMG_8200.JPG IMG_8203.JPG IMG_8207.JPG IMG_8210.JPG

As far as the TFV Mini...

And mostly quoting myself from another thread, but...

Single coil nazi here, been rebuilding since the 1st vape, and never used prebuilt coils, didnt become a vaper to get mired in brands of coils and consumables.

I own a Lemo 2 (used to have a Lemo 1, its passed away sadly), and a TFV4 Mini - which i got and straight away gave away all the fancy coils for it within minutes (bought it during a vape meet at my local b&m) to someone else i know who also bought the TFV4 Mini that night, and am sending the dual deck RBA, which i got as a bonus when i bought it, to someone here on the forums, as ill never use it.

Usually running 0.6ohm 3mm ss in the RCA deck on tc

Yup, single coiler...i like no muss, no fuss vapage.

The TFV4 is a step above, flavourwise, my most loved tank the Lemo 2. You dont need octocoils to get a decent vape out if it.

I agree, but if you're looking to ascend to the heavens to vape with the gods the tfv8 octopus coils are the way to go :vapor:
