TFV8 low resistance error

I just purchased a TFV8 from a friend today and I built the rba the proper way and it was reading 0.40. I used the premade Clapton coil heads and Bacon wick and the build is nearly perfect, however I keep getting "low resistance" on three mods.

The only way I can get it to work is to open the top of the tank a little bit so it's not tight but it's still hit and miss and I feel like that could ruin my mod. I'm thinking of returning it to him tomorrow but I'd still like to know what the problem is.

He told me he never had that problem but for some reason I am am experiencing it. Another problem is that I end up getting a dry hit every time I take a long hit, regardless of the wattage I am on (tried from 80 to 150W).

The flavor is kind of poor but the clouds are, as its name states, BEAST.

I did some online research about the low resistance problem and a lot of people seem to have experienced that. Loosening the top of the tank a little bit is merely a temporary solution and I feel like it will do more harm than good.

Do you have have any advice regarding this?

Make sure the grub screws are tight and the coil wire isn't damaged in any way.

I had the same issue on my Cuboid 150, and it was due to one of the screws/coil wire not making good contact with the positive arm on the build deck. (it was on a Griffin fyi)

Try new coils perhaps?

The only unused coil available is the Octuple one and I want to give it back to him without using it. I'll let him know about this, though.

I will post some pictures now. I took the tank apart and put it back together and somehow the low resistance message disappeared. The vape is really hot, though, and I noticed that the ohms keep jumping up and down. They keep going from 0.33 to 0.40 and back, with a different value every time I press the fire button. Is that even normal?

Almost looks like those coils are too large for that deck. Ohms jumping around usually points to a faulty coil or a connection that isn't tight enough. Did you try tightening the coils?

I tried everything but it seems like the RBA deck itself has a problem because I tried the Octuple coil and it worked fine. I returned it to where I purchased it from anyways and am looking for a new, powerful tank now. The TFRTA seems like a good, affordable choice, but are there other better options out there? I feel like the Griffin 25 will be identical to my Serpent Mini 25.

I am going to check if the OBS Engine tank is available in the market but I've never heard of it before so I highly doubt it.

I'am a TFV8 user and honestly the screws on the the two pole deck are quitely not good on threadings i just replace it twice and the problem is solved.

Where are you located Tarek? There are vendors you can find here on the forums as well.

I live in Cairo, Egypt so I doubt there will be any vendors on this forum that are anywhere near here, especially since importing vaping items isn't actually legal here unless you bring them with you while coming from abroad. There are a lot of stores and vendors locally, though, but the prices are extremely high and the variety is quite limited. The TFV8 tank is quite popular over here, though, but its coils are really, really expensive.

That build deck should be fine with narrower diameter coils...maybe a pair of .5ohm claptons which should squeeze in there just fine at .25ohms total.
