I don't know if its the ERA or vaping the VVG at 4.2v, but I'm going through juice like crazy. Been averaging about 10mls per day since I got these two. If I were still buying commercial joose that could be close to $5 a day or more. Now that I'm making my own I'm happy to say it less than a buck a day. Gotta love it!

Starting on our DYI this weekend.

I have found that on the first week or so on the Challis I went through more juice. Heavy vapor means its using more juice IMO.

But that is the pay off for the best vape I have ever had

Going to start trying to flavor my nic juice using natural tobacco leave. I have been working out the details over the past few weeks. Got some sample tobacco leave in this evening in the mail. From there I will ad flavoring to my liking to the base Tabasco juice if needed or desired.

This is where I was pointed to get the loos leave Tabacco. Whole Tobacco Leaves by the Pound, Buy Tobacco Leaf, Bulk Tobacco, Fronto Leaf, Cigar Wrappers, Binders, and Fillers

Rambling Sorry :)

Been going through more juice too- anyone have a good DIY for Flue Cured? Seriously!

Can't help ya there Dave, my only attempt at a tobacco juice rendered the atty to the trash bin and the drip tip still wonky after soaking in vodka :(

Been sticking with the fruit flavors so far but I'm only 10 days into the fun.
I've also found I like the flavor of plain nic as long as its 100% VG ...... if I add any PG to it the flavor changes for the worst. So maybe that means I like the flavor of VG, not the nic itself. Either way I have a grand loaded with 15mg all VG plain nic and I've been picking it up more than I thought I would. I might even load the VV with the chalice with it and see if it could be my all day vape .... how simple and cheap would that be ?? :D

My two faves I would love to get close to are LiquidXpress Taboo and AVe Hype. If anyone has a recipe to get me close to those I would be grateful.

So far the only dual flavor fruit I've really liked is strawberry lemonade.
Just some strawberry, lemon, and some sweetener. Really enjoying that one in a 2 ohm shorty carto.

Tobacco vapes aren't so easy to DIY, in my opinion. Here's one that I sort of like. I have a bottle steeping. I want to see if it changes significantly after a couple of weeks.

  • 5% Desert Ship
  • 8% Irish Cream
  • 8% Caramel
  • 4% Cinnamon
  • 4% Ethyl Maltol (dissolved in PG)
  • 1% Absinthe

My blend is 70/30 pg-vg, but I'll try a higher vg blend in the future to see how it turns out.

I also tried this recipe with a Latakia base and it was horrible.

Tim, I strayed away from the fruits several months ago, but remember thinking TPA's Cantaloupe would have been a great start for a Hype DIY.

Although all of the flavoring companies out there offer products that have appealing names of scents and flavors that we're mostly familiar with and therefore have preconceived expectations of what they should taste like the simple fact is no company has a line of product that exactly matches every flavor, and some don't even come close.

The most offensive flavorings are those that have an overpowering perfumy or chemical taste which, if over flavored, can render the juice completely unvapable.

For those just venturing into the world of DIY one of the flavoring companies that one might want to start learning with is Capella. Their flavor drops tend to be the most forgiving for the novice with many of them being excellent as standalone flavors and once a bit of experienced is obtained very easy to transition into multiple flavor recipes.

The one thing the novice should not overlook is the importance of allowing a newly made juice to steep, (sit for a period of time with occasional shaking to help blend the molecules. The length of time for steeping varies greatly from a few days to a week or so for fruit and desert based juices to a month or longer for tobacco flavored juices.

A particular juice that is barely vapable the day it is mixed can transform into vaping nirvana with proper steeping.

I never liked tobacco vapes so I can't help much in that department.

I have read in this thread that alot of folks seem to like these super concentrated flavors, and I get the feeling that most of the tobacco flavors are pretty good on their own. They have many different flavors including HFC, and the thread seems to mention black 'n mild quite often. They are alcohol based flavors so should be good for someone that wants to stay away from PG.

Just a disclaimer... I tried a few of the non-tobacco flavors, mainly mints and menthols. One was OK, most I did not care for, but thats me, and I didn't try the tobaccos.

I bought some of those to try: Black and MIld, Desert Ship and Peach and I really liked them! B&M rocks! I mixed some of it with a little Gorilla Juice I still had in my Reo and it tastes like a milkshake... I think those Super Concentrated Flavors are pretty good, I have a few more on my wishlist.
