I was originally a pack a day smoker since I was around 16 years old. I picked up vaping around 8 months ago and I'm happy to say I haven't had a single cig or craved one in 6 months! When I first took my CPAT (Cadet Physical Attribute Test) for my local fire department I failed miserably because I couldn't stop coughing. I failed with a 38%. After being off cigs for this ammount of time I retook it and passed with a 96%! I didn't hack or gag once! I was hired on the spot and am now a fire fighter! I cannot thank you guys and girls who helped me when I had questions enough! I can honestly say that vaping and this Community has helped not only further my career but literally save my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much!

Congratulations, Rkb! :) Two great achievements done in a short time. Hope like heck you've recorded this over at CASAA.org. Stories such as yours only prove vaping is a healthier alternative. Now if only the "health organizations" would just listen!!! You deserve much credit with seeking the information here and "running" with it. Big kudos!

Well done sir on both fronts! Indeed this is the kind of story that can only help others in their early vaping days.

I particularly noted what you said about not having experienced cravings - this too was my experience - compared to my previous attempts via Smoking Cessation Clinics and Nicotine Replacement Therapy - I spent all my waking moments it seemed thinking about smoking and what I was missing. I think vaping works because it offers similar activity and diversion while cutting out the risks of smoking.

Whatever it works. Well done again. Thanks for posting.
