Bump for my 5 posts. Another week+ down. I haven't dropped the last few smokes as fast as I thought. The first in the morning (I go outside and watch the sun rise) and after meals are really tough. Getting there though and no intention to go back to full-time smoking. I'm not beating myself up too much though, I'm still WAY down from my smoking habit.
Welcome!
When I switched I was a 30 year 2 PAD smoker and it took me 3 months to completely quit smoking. So - no beating up on yourself allowed. As long as you sincerely have the desire to quit this is all about finding the way forward.
What may help:
Use two different nic levels. Mornings were always the worst cravings problems for me, and for some reason the last couple hours before bed. So it was a given that I started the day at the higher nic level for a couple hours and it was there for any other bad cravings. I used two different nic levels for about four months when I started.
Don't try to vape like you used to smoke. This is more about getting a consistent nic level in your system now. You don't get that 'smacked upside the head' instant experience that you get from smoking. A lot of new users have to work up to vaping enough and on a consistent basis when they start.
And don't make the smokes easy either. Your PV belongs on the bed side table and the pack of butts belongs some place... like the top shelf of a closet. Make yourself get up and go get one if you really want it. We can be very lazy and just having to get up and get a cigarette can be enough to make you skip a cigarette for the time being.
Lot's of tricks to make this work.
