A little over a year ago, after nearly 20 years of being a pack a day smoker, I spent $70 on a cigalike pv. The draw and flavor were terrible, but I tried to push through it for almost a month before deciding that, like the gum, the patch, Chantix (lord, the side effects), or plain cold turkey, this wasn't going to help.

Fast forward to two months ago (March 24th to be precise). A week earlier a friend of mine convince me to try the "next generation" of e-cigarettes. I did some digging around here and I ended up going with a genuine Kanger EVOD ($30 for two batteries, two tanks, charger, and 5 spare coils). Lord, what a difference! A month later I'd upgraded to a Kanger Protank 3 and an iTaste VV/VW 3. Since then, my wife has decided she really likes the VV, so I've ordered myself an iTaste MVP 2 (which should be here tomorrow) from a vendor I found here. In those two months I've lurked here taking in all that I could.

Learning that I could actually rebuild the coils for the EVOD and Protank, which I came across here, has gotten me all excited about rebuildables. I've already ordered some 30g Kanthol and will be trying my hand at rebuilding the coils I have before making the leap to a true RBA.

I don't even think about analogs anymore, and love coming here daily to see what new (to me) thing I can find that will get me even more exited about vaping. You guys never fail to deliver!

Thanks again. :D

Thanks! I will definitely check that out. I feel pretty comfortable, theoretically, tackling the Kanger coils. We'll see when I actually try my first one.
Well, with that one BIG eye, you ought to be able to see well enough to rebuild a Kanger coil!! You are going to be amazed when you get your first good build, the flavor add vapor production is going to be far superior to those stock coils. Just rewicking the stockers with some cotton or hemp will be a massive improvement. And a tip: You can rebuild those PT 3 heads as single coils, just add a bit of cotton on top to take the place of the other coil, works great!!

Thanks for the tip! Is the advantage of the single coil over the dual just a matter of battery life? Or is it a flavor/vapor production issue?

I've built some for others and they really like them better than the stockers. They were blowing huge clouds taking lung hits and said the flavor was excellent. I can see having dual coils in a RBA or RDA but don't see much advantage in a tank topper.

I picked up some 30g kanthol and organic cotton. What ohms do you shoot for with your single coil PT builds? How many wraps?
