Howdy Y'all

Just joined the forum, been vaping for about a year now. Started off with a fin disposable from walmart then went to a kangertech evod. Now I've got a kanger mini protank 3 and a itaste vv 3.0. I joined the forum because of the wealth of information that I've found here about all kinds of stuff. I'm just starting to try to get into rebuilding coils for my mini protank 3 as I'm having trouble with a juice I bought not wicking correctly and gunking up my wicks.

Also I've got a couple of questions:

1) does anyone else not buzz off of vaping? I started at 12 and then have since bumped it up twice to 24 mg because I don't buzz at all.

2) does anyone know if it would be bad for battery life to (almost) always vape my itaste vv 3.0 while charging? It can do passthrough and I'm usually just sitting at my computer surfing the web or playing games so if it wouldn't destroy my battery's lifespan I feel like that would be pretty awesome

Don't want to see you get passed over. Welcome. These post's go by fast and furious on this site.
Took all of 2 weeks to hit 8 Mods (clones work great and cost less) , 2 RDA's and 2 RTA's...Do a single coil on a Kraken working on a Stingray-X just once and you'll be hooked for good.(Vivid Smoke and Vape Royality are my fave stores) Using a little Electric Shave or chapstick as a light lube or grease on all thread to assemble mods and switch function and everything works perfectly. Rebuilding factory atty's is a bit harder because of the very close tolerance between that center pin and ground (case) with the little rubber donut. If you don't trim that center hot lead off flush inside before you put the pin in, it will short.

Thanks for the reply, I'm currently trying to not try any of the nice toys because my current budget can't handle it. I've looked at some videos about rebuilding the older kanger coils and think that I can handle it. I've got a history of computer building/ rebuilding and I've done some pretty meticulous stuff in that field. Is there any way to double check you haven't set a rig up to short out before you actually start vaping on it?

You can certainly get a buzz from vaping as you worded it but in my experience not from a mini 3 I'm sure some do and some don't. If you enjoy learning and tinkering getting something designed to be rebuilt can certainly give you more punch than what you are using. There is nothing wrong with the mini 3 or evod and there is something to be said for it if it works for you, but a kayfun type topper or dripper will have a bigger coil. A bigger coil means more surface area to heat up and a bigger wick meaning more liquid to be vaped. Bigger area + bigger wick = bigger potential vapor as well as how much power the coil can handle. I think the V3 goes up to 11 watts and that is pushing it for the coils you are using. You may have noticed a burnt taste when cranked up that high because the small coils/ wicks struggle to keep up with that high of power. I like to think that was a long winded answer to your 1st question. Btw if you do get a topper like I mentioned I would lower your nic from 24. More vapor means more nic and most people can't handle 24 on a dripper. As far as the battery goes as long as you have it connected to a wall outlet you should be fine on pass through. Vape gear should never be charged off a computers USB IMO. Some will do it and have no issues but not all USB ports are equal and can kill a battery. I know 1st hand a ps3 should not be used to charge a cig-a-like but no one tells new vapors these things. Using the pass through will slow your charge time too. Welcome to ECF!

Man Yall are really making me want to upgrade again lol and I just got this v3. I was wanting to buy a gun soon but maybe my christmas money will go to new gear instead. I don't charge off of my computer, I just meant I'll be sitting at my desk so I can have it plugged in. I'm glad the v3 can check the coil before it fires because even though I'm pretty confident I can do this, it always pays to be safe.

Storm6 many of us here suffer from the 'need' to buy vape gear. Its called GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and it is very real. As far as the budget goes that can be a tough one. If you are not too bothered by looks I would find a topper designed to be rebuilt for your home use. It will look like a lollypop on a V3 but at home its not as troublesome. A good topper can be found for 20+ so its a relatively cheap way to venture in. The V3 wont fire below 1.2 ohms (I may be off slightly on that) so you have plenty of safety in the building. If you do that start with a single coil and if its a dripper most stock airholes are not to be trusted. They are small and worthless and give harsh harsh vape. My point there is let the mod wait a bit. Plus right now it seems every other week some new super high powered device is rolling out, so the longer you wait the more options/ power you get to buy AND more people will have tested these devices giving you first hand feedback

Piece of cake. Totally Wicked for Platinum Ice (100ml bottle) Gold Standard flavors (over 80?) I get my VG pharme grade pure from the local herb store for $6 a 16oz bottle.(NOW Products). The Ice is 72mg so cut with VG the percent you want for your nic mg level. 1/5th for 14.4 mg. Add about 15 drops of flavor choice in 30ml...shake and vape my friend.
