My Father-in-Law has harassed me for 17 years about smoking. He has even offered me money to quit. He came out for a visit last month and brought me what I think is an ego clearomizer starter kit. (May be a knock-off since there is no name on it though. Searched on the web and found pictures that look like it and they were pics of the ego.) I smoked analogs for close to 20 years with a few years off to have a couple babies. Right around a pack a day. The first day I tried vaping I gave up analogs. I made sure there weren't any in the house. (Although I did find a few stashed in a drawer three days into quitting and I made hubby crush them and throw them away.) It's been a month now and I am so proud of myself. I NEVER thought I would be able to stop smoking. Never even really tried because I knew I couldn't quit. vaping made it SO easy I am shocked.
Anyway, just wanted to share, especially for those of you thinking about quitting and going to vaping. It has worked for me and I am thrilled! So are my husband and kids!! And to say thanks to my Father-in-Law. I laughed at him for buying me one but he was actually right for once...I'll NEVER hear the end of it now..

P.S. This is my first post so please excuse any bad posting etiquette :)

Welcome to vaping. I'm sure your father-in-law is proud of you. And he is feeling good about himself too for being right for once ;-)
I smoked for 42 years and I've been off of "analogs" for a little over a month now.
I never, never , ever thought it would be this easy to quit.

So congratulations and hang in there, it only gets easier.

Congrats to you and thank you to your FIL:) He must be very happy to be able to help you out. You have come to the right place here for support. I am still on the analogs but doing better. I keep reading all the testimonies and it is really helping me. If all of these wonderful people on here can do it so can I.

Giving thanks to those who shared...Gotta thank my boy John Freeman for 'opening my eyes' and introducing me to the world of vaping.
According to the New England journal of medicine, quitting smoking by 40, over time your body will heal most of the damage caused by smoking. Quitting by 35 gains an extra decade of life..."Live long and vapor"

Thanks Shelley! This seems like a great community. I have already felt a little strange about vaping in public, never seen anyone else do it, so it's nice to be around other vapors! Good luck to you. You can do this! I feel so much better after only a month. What kind of e-cig are you using?

I just got a Vision Spinner and mini vivi nova for it about 2 weeks ago. I had tried last year and had horrible different brand and no variable voltage. I have to use a high VG and since it usually mutes the flavors my other set-up was not working. Finally got the money and got great recommendations for the spinner so I got one for me and my husband. Variable voltage is making a huge difference. I think it is just a mental thing of parting with the analogs. I was a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker since I was 17 and I am 42 now so it is hard but I know my husband and I can do it:) We are in the process of getting a bunch of backups for our backups so in about a month we are striving to put down the analogs once everything comes in. Want to be prepared so we don't fail this time. Ordering a ton of juice too. I don't want to be without anything we need.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear that you finally quit. I'm 21 years old and I started smoking in 4th grade. Was up to sometimes 2 packs a day by the time I got kicked out of school in 7th grade. I quit when I was 13, but picked it back up when I was 18. I just finally quit several months ago after getting into vaping again. The first time I tried it was with nasty mall kiosk cig-a-likes. Once I discovered a local brick and mortar shop and found juices that I love, it was all over for analogs! It surely is amazing how at first you get so hooked on the flavor that you can't go back to analogs, and then a hobbyist mindset comes along with it to where you're stuck. But I am happy to be stuck vaping all day, lowering my nic level little by little, rather than smoking 2 to 3 packs of 6$ each a day.

Congrats!!! I stop smoking 1 week today and started 2 weeks ago I use to roll my analogs and I still have a pound of tobacco and paper, I have no intensions nor cravings to go back. They taste nasty!!!
and yes it made it so easy that if i did not run out of juice and batteries, perhaps i would have stopped sooner

Congrats!
