I'd like to say thank you to everyone who posts on this forum. I've only been 3 days cigarette free but I know I can do it. I was smoking pack and a half a day, am overweight and on one of the newer sleep apnea machines...bipap with ivaps. Basically it can breathe for me at night. I can hardly walk a 1/2 block before getting so winded I have to sit down. I am so looking forward to getting healthier and really pleased with being smoke free for this long. I appreciate this forum and the positive sense everyone has here. THANKS! :D

I have an older friend that was recently in the hospital for low O2. He smoked a pack or so a day, had COPD, and couldn't walk 50ft without huffing and puffing afterwards. Since getting out of the hospital, he got an eGo kit and not only has he quit smoking, he can walk the entire block! I'm confident you will start feeling A LOT better soon!

Best of luck!

You came to the right place.

Baby steps-

If you have a question, don't hesitate to post! I'm positive that the support from the forum is what helped me transition from smoking to vaping- and to keep vaping! That's the key! Lots of great people here, lots of fun groups to join and everyone here wants you to succeed.

Great Job balazon! keep it up, I was amazed by how quick I started feeling better. I have a Suunto Ambit watch that I got mostly for the GPS, 3D compass and what not, it came with a wireless heart rate monitor. Even though I was a pack and half a day smoker I had a pretty low resting heart rate. 16+ years Army and still counting :) so I get lots of exercise. I started using the monitor a couple of days ago to see If I could see a difference other than just "feeling" better. Holly cow! my resting heart is still the same but my aerobic heart rate dropped 20%! Thinking it was a fluke I ran the same 2 mile course today and it was 21% lower! One of my Soldiers who suffers from sleep apnea quit smoking three months ago has also just been taken off of his C-pap by his doctor, his oxygen absorption and conversion rate went up enough that his doctor didn't think he needed it anymore. Hang in there balazon!
