I've been smoking for 17 years, not a huge amount, 5-10 cigarettes a day, but have never been able to go more than a couple of days without. The big problem has been that I've always chain-smoked at least half of those.

My e-cigarette arrived on 8/26, and so far I'm noticing I can breathe deeper, my voice is less strained, my sense of smell is coming back, and I just feel better.

That's not what compelled me to write. Tonight after a meeting I realized I'd packed improperly and both batteries with me were dead. I bummed an ultralight cigarette from a friend, and it tasted beyond disgusting. I was nauseous and gagging. I honestly don't know how I made it through one of those in the past, let alone four in a row, let alone half a pack (or more, when really stressed out) in a day.

I did make it through, and do recognize that I am still addicted to nicotine, but even if the ingredients in e-liquid are killing me, at least they're doing it in a far, far more pleasant manner.

This isn't a new hobby or interest for me, it's simply replaced a part of my lifestyle which I didn't like about myself with one that feels- and tastes- a whole lot better.

Thanks for the good info. Sure I'll have plenty of questions, and in time, answers.
