Thanksgiving tradition in MY house is to have a full-blown REALLY STANDARD Thanksgiving dinner, usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. This is because ON Thanksgiving, we tend to be with my family, and they always want to do something gourmet, or something all natural, or something healthy. And I want a damned turkey, and that smooth cranberry sauce out of a can, and stuffing, even if it's from a box, and a pumpkin pie even if you buy it at the supermarket. And then, at like 11 PM, I want a turkey sandwich. If I can't have that I'm not happy. Gonna happen again this year - I'll have a turkey waiting at home for me while I visit my parents. :)

Had a grandfather that spent a few years of his youth REALLY REALLY poor, living and working on a turkey farm.
They'd have turkey at every meal. I mean turkey at breakfast. Turkey stew. Turkey sandwiches. Turkey soup.
When you'd invite him to Thanksgiving, I mean 50, 60 70 years later, he'd ask "what are you serving?"
If you were having turkey, he wouldn't come. He HATED turkey. lol
