Cannabis-based medicine for epilepsy 'fast-tracked' by NHS
Weeeellll .... most are CBD products. Last time they said that Cannabis products were available they frightened GPs ( General practitioners for those over the pond, local general doctors if you like) with misinformation/no information and none of them would prescribe it!
Have you seen the price of these products?!!! eg: Epidyolex is a 100 mg/ml CBD oral solution, nothing special in it only it's "standardised", aka registered and licenced to contain that exact amount of CBD. Prescribed for 2 rare conditions. "It costs between £5,000 and £10,000 per patient each year - but the manufacturer, GW Pharmaceuticals, has agreed a lower discounted price with the NHS." from - Two cannabis medicines approved for NHS
I have never been able to find that discounted price anywhere....... but £5-£10k????? For goodness sake!!!!!! Typical Big Pharma!
US sales - Jun 19 · Uptake and sales of Epidiolex in the US have exceeded expectations, with 10,000 patients treated by April 2019 and sales of $33.5 million in its first full quarter on the market, more than double the anticipated $16 million figure . From - Cannabidiol
