many of us are probably familiar with it. getting new attys only to have them retain their metallic/burnt plastic/... taste and horrid throat and tongue burn regardless of any and all efforts to remove it. we look to the forums for help, only to find the myriad of methods for atty cleaning/de-primering (not to say that these are not entirely relevant and thoroughly useful in the appropriate situation, mind you), a bunch of threads with no replies authored by people with the same problem, and that no one has been able to make any real headway towards a solution (there are threads on this subject dating back more than a year, btw). we contact our suppliers for help and/or product replacement, and are told "oh gee, i have never heard of anything like this before, have you tried blowing out the primer and soaking in (insert whacky substance here) and blah blah blah etc etc etc?" and "no, sorry, we can't replace that, this is clearly user error." and we keep sending more money for more parts with more problems. i am not a fool, nor am i new. i know how to properly prepare an atomizer for use when it's fresh out of the package. i have, most recently, ordered a total of nine 510 atomizers, and one of them works properly (here's hoping it doesn't abruptly die). are there any suppliers out there who acknowledge this and are sympathetic to the plight of the broke trying to rid themselves of the cancer stick (or are they all in on a massive conspiracy to rape us of our cash $25 at a time)? has anyone learned what the cause of this is? has anyone figured out what exactly is burning/vaping to produce this god awful taste and likely harmful chemicals? has anyone learned to fix it? i am sure a ton of folks will scornfully instruct me to search through ridiculous .... tons of threads and posts as these questions have likely already been answered, and to this i say eat me. if that's true, someone should have compiled this research and stickied it by now.

Wow that is some bad luck on your attys, i have not honestly had that problem with any of my attys... but thats not to say it doesnt exist? other than vacating the primer out of it im not sure what else to do to fix that other than try another supplier that sells them, where did you get yours? also what type of ecig are you using?

i have heard ok things about cignot, but i can say i havent heard much about domesticvapor, but i notice that most sites cant do much about defective attys as they are not usually warrantied and usually no returns (not 100% certain on that but thats what ive noticed on most) maybe some more veteran members can put in some insight.

edit__ respectable customer service in the sites listed here are known for making things better if you complain though even after no warranties or returns.

de-wicking does not work.
i use ecopure menthol, it's definitely not the juice.
i lack the resources to acquire additional models. i use a 900 mah ego. until december of last year i had no problems with attys. then, every time i buy new ones most of them are bunk.
and as i have said, i am not new at this. i have been vaping for a little over a year now. i am restricted to posting in new members because i have never posted before now.
am i just a fool? is no one else actually experiencing this?

In my experience, burning them dry and too hot gets you that burnt flavor and it sticks around for awhile. I've used Joye and EM atties, mostly LR for the past year or so, and it's usually only when I have a pocket-fire and burn them dry that I end up with the burnt taste. Vapemasters has the best price on Joye 510 LRs that I have found.

I have a 510 with an LR and standard atty, I find if you drip more in as soon as you get the "funny, running out of juice" taste you can avoid a burnt taste. I made that mistake once with my standard atty and i'm very careful with the LR. That being said, I've had my LR atty for well over a month with regular to heavy use.... which i understand to be quite the lifespan for a LR atty.

vaporkings.com has 10 packs of Joye 510's (LR and standard res) for $47. best prices i know if from a US vendor for genuine joye's. fast shipping too. I've tried the EM's and DSE/SLBs, and i've found them to be of lesser quality than the joye's (though i'm sure many dissagree). If you're going the LR route, the Cisco's really can't be beat...though they are a little pricier than joye's.

I have often wondered why they feel the need to cram them full of nasty chemicals that we need to blow out. Why not use pg to test them and keep them from drying out during shipping?

It's probably solder flux. I get it in CE2's, clearomizers, etc, just soak and rinse BEFORE using them, once that stuff gets into the wick it takes awhile to get it out, not to mention the whole yuck aspect of the vape in your mouth.

If you soak them before using, the flux doesn't get into the wick.
