I have no right yet really to be posting,. 4.5 hours analog free. However, I am quickly learning that I can do this. I was just never aware that there are other factors here too other than addiction but the ecig makes it all bearable. I am used to going to the porch to smoke (I don't smoke in my house). Every time I hit off the ecig my body tells me that I need to go to the porch and that I haven't done something that I need to do. I may need to resort to following that routine until I become more adjusted. It's really also important to completely remember one thing. Smoking an ecig is not instant gratification at first. You need to become accustomed to the fact that there is a delay in the time that you vape as opposed to the point that you feel the effects. Unlike an analog that you light and suck down and feel the effect with the first drag.

I had the same issue, more or less, Lisa. Mine was my zippo though. I continued to carry it around, because I was so used to grabbing it every morning and in case someone needed a light. Problem was every time I put my hand in my pocket and touched it, i felt the need to light up.

I still live in a household with 4 smokers, we have always smoked inside, but it does not bother me anymore. rather it reinforces my desire not to smoke. i can smell it on them and in the air, but it's no longer pleasant like it used to be. very stagnant in fact.

You guys are my saving grace sincerely. I think I also just figured out part of the problem. I was using 12mg and I am such a wimp when it comes to stuff (imagine that after sucking down all those analogs over the years ) that I am actually phobic about od'ing. The flavor of the nic is not that hot either. I just switched to my 18mg and the flavor is more reflective of that of an analog which I think, for me anyway, is helpful in the beginning. I am alternating with 0mg apple pie which is helping with the effect.

Learning curve for sure but I'll get there.

You've got me beat--I live with 2 chainsmokers who also smoke inside. I notice I'm using the Febreze a LOT more often than I used to. I can't believe I didn't use to notice the smell.

I kept grabbing my lighter instead of my ecig the first 2 days, so I gave my family members my lighters so I wouldn't get confused anymore. I love that my callous finally healed lol.

In my house I was the biggest chainsmoker, but 2 of the others are not far behind. I washed most of my clothes 2 weeks after i quit to get that smell out of them.

To think I used to talk to women smelling like that. Ugh.

Apparently my signature is a bit off on calculations.LOL

I followed my routine for smoking when I started to vape. It felt the most natural to me, so I continued to go outside and also vape after my meals. I will admit I love laying in bed and having a session, because I never smoked inside.

As far as the over dose stuff. Your body is an amazing thing, and it has a ton of "fail safes" built in to save itself. Unless you smoke a super concentration that OD's you in 1 hit (I don't think 36mg or lower is capable of this), you should be fine. If its too much your body will let you know by making you feel sick, making you light headed, or making you dizzy. Follow your own body's advice and adjust to something you feel comfortable with.

I was the worst one in my house, too  The husband still smells like ciggies, but I don't hold that against him. I'm no longer tempted by analogs at all, but there are times I wish they'd both quit (or go outside--I don't dare suggest it, it was something I was adamantly against when I smoked).

EDIT: This whole 'server busy' thing is getting completely annoying...rather shocked my post wasn't lost when I hit 'send'.

I was posting back to when that happened. In this situation my husband HATES smoking and has put up with it for a very long time, he is one happy person.

The few times I dated nonsmokers before I got married, it was always a recipe for disaster. They hated it, I got defensive, they pushed me to quit, I gave them walking papers. Not a good match for me!

It's pretty cool, now that I'm at 5 wks or so into vaping, I'm still amazed I was able to put down analogs. If there was ever a contest for 'Least Likely to Ever Quit Smoking', I'm pretty sure everyone I've ever known would have nominated ME.
