I think we can all agree that the REO is the best vaping system available at the present time.

I've always been one that likes to own the best so that got me thinking what other brands or products do you own you feel are the best of the best?

vaping:
REOs Mods
Allien Visions juice
Cisco atomizers
AW Batteries

I think most of us can agree on those. Other brands I love and am extremely loyal too.

Footwear:
Merrell and Stegmann. I have a pair of Merrell Cross county ski boots from 1989 that work like new.
My 11 year old Stegmann clogs still bring my back right back into alignment after a few hours of wearing.

Jackets:
Marmot and OR (Outdoor Research)
I have a Marmot Jacket from 1991 that I just replaced this past winter. And many more :)

Hats:
OR, Tilley, and Stetson.
I just got my first Tilley hat last month but I'm hooked.

Knives:
Kitchen - Global
Folding - Emerson and Benchmade.

Tech:
Apple all the way. I was Apple way before Apple was cool or mainstream. First Apple computer was 1991.
Now I have the Trifecta ..... Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPhone 4s.

Audio equipment:
McIntosh ..... Cant beat the old school tubes and green/blue glow of the meter lights.

Motorcycles and Scooters:
Yamaha and Vespa.

Bicycles:
Cannondale (Pre-2005 Cannondale) when they were all handmade a few hours from my home.
I have 7 Cannondale bikes at this time.

Photography:
Nikon. Always been a Nikon guy since 1981 when I bought my first one at a garage sale. Even stuck with them during the years Canon was clearly ahead but now they back to neck and neck IMO.

Luggage:
Delsey .... Nice stuff!

I'm sure theres more if I walk around the house looking. But those are off the top of my head and are brands that I own multiple items.

So what do you love?
What should I look into if I'm looking for the very best?
Feel free to check out my picks if your looking for top quality.

Only brands you own please, I know all kinds of top brands I cannot afford :D

Well, I'd love to name brands I've been loyal to, but to be honest....I haven't been loyal to any of them due to finances. I agree that Merrell makes the best boots, though I don't own any now (my first and last pair lasted me 16 years)...my favorite coat is a Northface, but the one I have is 16 years old and I haven't bought another one since...not because I don't want to, but because I can't justify it. My favorite custom bootmaker is NativEarth, I have one pair of boots and one pair of sandals that I commissioned 8 years ago and fiercely love them and someday will buy more. My favorite tent maker is Panther Pavillions...but again, I only have one and will replace several of my other tent's covers with gear made by them someday when I can afford it. Many of my favorite brands are just cost prohibitive for me....at least for now. So if I need anything, I tend to find things that are more affordable with the intention of replacing them later on.

REO makes a darn fine mod, that's for sure... I try not to mention other mod makers too much in REOs sub-forum because it's just sort of poor form. For this one though, I'm glad that REO and Notcigs have a good relationship because I'd offer up my VVPV as equal to my VV Woodville. I couldn't pick a favorite between them for love or money.

Vaping:
REOs Mods
Allien Visions Juice
Cisco atomizers
AW Batteries

(with the caveat already mentioned, I completely agree and maybe should have left that in the quote)

Footwear:

I have some Merrell's on my feet right this moment, but there is nothing on planet earth that compares to White's. If you want the best quality boot and a perfect fit, go to a White's dealer and get your feet molded for a pair of Whites.

Jackets:

Carhartt. Though they started making more fashionable outerwear a few years back, a brown duck thinsulate lined carhartt coat and bibs will not only keep you warm when the mercury drops well in to double digit negatives but will also take the abuse a working man endures.

Hats:

If I'm wearing a brim, it's a stetson.

Knives:

Gerber. It's hard to find a knife I'd consider to be top-shelf that isn't German made.

Tech:

I like to give commands to my machines. I like it even more when they obey. I'm a *nix guy for real work. - I like to game and not much relaxes me more than blowing the heads off zombies or fragging enemies, so if I'm not working, I'm in Windows.

Audio equipment:

Sennheiser, Brauner, MXL

Motorcycles and Scooters:

I'm a cager.

Bicycles:

I had a Trek I liked through most of the 90s.

Photography:.

Sony. Same for videography: Sony.

Luggage:

I'm fine with old steamer trunks... but public transit/mass transit doesn't accommodate such things any more. I can stuff a weeks worth necessities in to any old ruck sack and I'm good to go.

Well knives are a hobby of mine and I have several Gerber knives. Gerber knives have been made in China for the last few years ... it maybe 5 or more now, time flies. Emerson would be my favorite but they are made in USA and pricey.

As far as the German thing, they do make nice knives but Japanese knives are the way to go for the kitchen.
They have been making fine blades by hand for a pretty long time :)

Good list though, I agree about the steamer trunks. I have a beautiful one that sits at the end of my bed but If I could travel with it I'm sure it would hold up well.

I'll check out the White's boots, I love good boots :)
Thats one reason I started this thread to learn about new brands.
I've never heard of White's before .... off to google.

Good to know. It has been a while since I had any need of new knives. Gerber is out if they are using Chinese steel now. For a short while in the mid-80s, China and Pakistan were pretty good with 440 stainless (not much else)... but before the 90s arrived, neither country was making anything I wanted.

I probably could have included some of the old high carbon stuff... Nearly every day, I have my grandfathers' camillus sheeps foot in my pocket. I'm not really sure when it was made, but I'm led to believe he had it before 1930. And, not as old, but quite a bit more valuable, I have a Jody Samson balisong a close friend willed to me a few years ago.
