I've got a few ravens and haven't experienced anything like this. Although I haven't chopped any for my BB yet, but I wouldn't think that chopping it would cause these issues. Now my dad on the other hand has a few as well, two of his we're just crap but the others are beasts

Perhaps you just got a dud? Or did it work properly before you cut it down?

I cut one down and used it in the BB, I used a second one in a tank and did not cut it down. Both have performed similarly. It's sounding like I got some of your Dad's duds. I still have one unopened.... :)

Morning BBville!

A few blue links for Silverdove :D. I'm going to have to assume some things here, but I'll give it a shot! ;-)

These are the cartos I use for my BB. There's lots of info on carto punches here already if you choose to do it that way. ME ... I just buy pre-punched. You can buy them here for what I think is a good price. Also there's often co-ops running here on ECF for them.
BOGE 510 Stainless Pre-Punched Cartomizer Std Res. 5-Pack [3814] : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

While you're there ... If you're going to practice with a tank setup using the 510 Boge's ... You will need an adapter for your Volt Spinner battery because it has an 808 connection. The Boge's are 510 and that's what you need for BB! Here's the link ...
901 / 808D Battery to 510 Cartomizer Adapter [521_10102] : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

I think I already posted a link to the tank I bought to get the hang of using a carto tank, but to make this easy & so you don't have to read back & hunt for it, I'll post again. It was a good price and easy ... Still using when my BB isn't glued in my hand! ;-) The 3 ml is a nice size for the battery your using (but you HAVE to get that adapter :)
3ml Polypropylene Tank

Here's a link to where you can get the DD recommended batteries for BB. I'm sure there are other place's, this is where I get mine. There's a coupon code for 5% off "ECF5" ... Not much, but hey every little bit helps, right? The batts you need for the BB are often Out of Stock, so when you find them there ... Grab ya 4!
Batteries : AW icr 123 16340 protected battery

There may be a coupon code for some of these other places ... I didn't look, I just remembered the one for RTD Vapor. I always try to find one. Valley View Vapes is closing down May 1st for vacation, so if you want a tank to practice and play with from them then time to order is now! :) (They don't have a coupon, but hey $6.99 for tank w/o carto $ 7.99 with carto!) The only other thing you will need is a syringe for the side filling hole. You will need one for filling the BB tank too. I looked for one like DD sent in the BB kit because you may as well get what will work for the BB too. You'll need a 5 ml syringe & a PLASTIC luer lock needle tip (not metal - all plastic). I couldn't find any. Sooooooo if anybody here has a link for that then that would be super!

Okie Dokie ... Hope that helps ... And maybe there are others that have different suggestions or blue links they can provide!

Now back to your regularly scheduled BBville programming .... ;-)

All three of the Ravens I have are still performing great, no flooding, no dry hits. When cutting down for the BB it is very important to make sure no little pieces of cut materials end up on the coil, I stuffed a bit of cotton ball in mine and inspected it afterward. A small piece of the plastic liner melting on the coil would ruin it and a metal sliver could short it.

I am running the Ravens in my Billet Box, on a Provari in one of these tanks Glass tanks , and one in a UDCT tank. All are feeding perfectly.

actually they went up at 4:13pm eastern time... great time to climb out ouf the fraghole :)

I kinda scored by accident. I looked at the page earlier in the day, it said soon, forgot about, looked again, and it was on. Grabbed an extra tank as well. It was 4:13 eastern when I grabbed mine. It must have went on at 4:10, so I barely made it, because someone said sold out in 4 minutes.

Will definitely use the cotton ball method. The issue I will have is finding something to cut it with. I don't have tools for metal. I do have a sander though???

THe dremel I bought about a year ago came with some cutting wheels that I used to slot cartos with a while ago, I'm thinking you might be able to get a wheel for a drill?

I have a dremel, I tried slotting cartos but could never do it right. Maybe I will use it to cut the raven. I have a table saw and miter saw and jig saw....LOL. Maybe I will pick up a mini pipe cutter.

I bought a few QT-1 Taps from Amazon. They are incredibly simple to use, the screw stops automatically, and it's very easy to see your mark from a sharpie. The best thing is, it doesn't deform the carto very much at all. I also have the Phiniac V2 punch, which makes a slightly larger hole, but deforms the carto a ton. I only use this QT-1 now. Very simple to put 3 holes 120 degrees apart at the bottom.

That's a good one, but I would recommend this one it has self adjusting tabs for any size battery and doesn't need the spacers the wp2II requires for smaller batteries. I own both and I prefer the Nitcore for its ease of use and it has never charged a battery to over 4.23, where my wp2II charges to 4.25.
