... if you would like to "unseal the tank" maybe just taking out the top o-ring might work.. The screws that hold the face into place are tiny tiny tiny, and are most likely just going to strip the hex head before coming undone...

Far be it from me to ignore the advice of the designer.

Tried that and it seems to work fairly well. Took out the top o-ring and have been dripping with it for about an hour now. At 3.5 ohms, even with the BB set to 5.5V it's a little cool for my taste - it really seems the BB's sweet spot is a 3.0 ohm load. But it's working just fine and the residue of (intentional) over-dripping is neatly caught inside the tank. Sweet!

The draw isn't too bad but is a little harder than I like. First thing I'll try is replacing the first 510-510 adapter (connected to the atty) with an unsealed adapter, keeping a sealed one on the bottom to prevent leaks. If that doesn't improve the draw the next step is to try to come up with a way to prop open the fill port ball just a bit, in a way that will still allow the back to be closed.

May not tweak around with this for much longer, but at least it's been useful as a proof-of-concept. "Dibs" on the first production version (if it turns out to be anything other than a DIY mod, of course). . . .

After a missed delivery yesterday, I went in late to work so I could pick mine up this morning. All I can say is this really is the most badass mod on the planet. It is absolutely beautiful. easy to use, and works flawlessly. I am just stunned by this thing. I also have to say that DD is the nicest and most helpful person you could ever hope to get a mod from. My sincerest gratitude goes out to Doug Dino for this true work of art.

Well the billet box is hopefully going to be the incentive for my other half to start vaping. I've been vaping for nearly two years now, whilst he still smokes. He's never been interested before, but finally said he liked the look of the billet box. Sooooo....

I had already preordered one for myself, and have told him that if he swaps smoking for vaping between now and delivery (which for Australia will be around mid March I think by the time it gets here) then he can have the billet box. And I even managed to stop my bottom lip from quivering when I did it. (but only just ). Whilst it may hurt a little bit (ok a lot) to forego having the billet box for myself, I'm just thrilled to pieces that he's going to give vaping a go. So many many thanks for designing a mod that is perfect for the more self conscious new vapers - my partner's lungs will thank you too

I hope that works out... It's not effortless for a lot of us to make the swap... we do have to want it, and work for it.... (well, for at least a week, then it's cake).. I love tools, and when i get a new one i'm motivated to work with it... the billet box is very much a tool. A good piece of equipment can be inspiring and motivating... bummer for you though, what a sacrifice... but if you get him off the smokes, i'm quite sure that it will be WAY worth it for you (ehh, until he starts stealing your favorite juice)

I will super try!!! I have been too covered in oil to play computers the past two day... doing a spindle swap on my machine as part of the final tooling prep... Cleaned myself up to write some code and see how hard i can push this machine...

nope, not gonna fly in the Billet Boxes 510 tank... bummer... But the key word is the "510 tank".The tank of the billet box is modular, I have a lot of different ideas for atomization method that will simply drop in or out of the BB. If there is enough demand for the 705, I'll likely make a way to cram it in there... the next tank I design however, will be a rebuildable with a stainless steel wick ( then maybe an adapter for Vapian so he stops having to dremel things!!!)

I have an idea for a tank atty that seems to work as far as I could take it but I lack the skill and tools to make a working version. However the "model" I made seemed to function as intended. Would love for someone to take the idea and develop it.
