Hi Doug, Can I use the Diver v2 with non resistance wire? Is that ok? Just curious? Thanks!

You definitely want to use NR wires in the Diver. Only because the distance from the cup to the base is longer vs rebuilding a clearo head and you'll have a greater chance burning up the ceramic cup over time.

i don't see why not, i never bothered but the input leg does do a little open travel and it sure wouldn't hurt to cool it down. i don't know if the pre made ones they offer are nr leaded or not... i really seem to remember they aren't.

Thanks! On flip side how low is too low of a resistance for the BB and Diver combo? I also have 1.2 ohm ready wires too.

below 1.8 ohms you have to just do the math to keep ur dial under 3 amps. You won't hurt the BB, but its electro guts are rated for 3 amp peak sustained loads. It will just top out, or trip if the IC thinks things are getting to hot.

I buy my ready made wires from here.

They have NR leads and they give you enough that will last a while and beats doing them yourself by twisting or using a zapper.

Hi Doug long time no see

been hiding...

Little Update:

Hey Guys, first off.. sorryz, sorry i haven't been around. My goal was to increase our production, and that meant moving, and more machines... those words can be typed out super quick, the reality of doing those things is ... huge... it took all i had... but we went from selling out in 4 min to over an hour today, that feels like i achieved something... our new shop is not even hitting anywhere close to our potential, so we finally have the room to grow, and that feels really good.

second sorry, is that i have not been trigger happy with the old camera phone... well, actually i have, but mainly with these types of pictures....

look at that face,,, LOOK AT IT, SO F"N CUTE, you just want to squeeze her till she PoPs....

Anywhoooo, i'll share what i gotz,

first we have Ruby, leaving the old shop through a hole we made that we still haven't 100% fixed yet... She came into that shop a few days shy of a year ago through a similar hole...awww, memories, we had doughnuts that morning, raspberry filled ones..

Here's Ruby next to her Big Sister (not fully named yet, close but... this is serious stuff) sitting on the cured shop floor, waiting patiently for electro juice..

for anyone wondering what a 400amp three phase service looks like.... them lines are the size of a roll of nickles..

here's we got the wires all ran along the ceiling and dropped down into the new machines elecrto gutz box... Ruby now plugs into her sister...

And then there's Dev.... i don't think i'v ever posted a pic of her outside of that crappy wood box she used to sit in.. back when she made every part of the BB she had to have that cage to keep the cutting oil from spraying all over the place.. now that she just cuts carbon fiber and dry stuffs she can do that naked...

what's pretty sad is she is hands down, no question, the most reliable machine we have...

So these pics were taken a while ago, everyone's up and cutting now, so here's what my workstation is lookin' like right now....

Classy, let see an aerial shot....

uggg, i don't really have a desk yet,,, i'm using the table that Dev used to sit on,,, i'll get there it just hasn't been a priority... Nightshift has a nice assembly room though.. (and lot's of desks) that was a little more important...

and here's that microwave i was talk'n about... THE THING ACTUALLY SPINS YOUR FOOD!!! how does it do that? i have no clue... i'm leaning towards wizard magic...

wow, this post has taken me a really long time to write, i'm running a batch of dial parts and tank lid thingys and it's a stand up, sit down every 5 min type deal... i'll do another little update tomorrow...

Woooow I can't believe Doug is here..... That's amazing. Got a question for you dear BB god what's the thickness of the lip where the carbon layer stands. I have a friend that works with leather and I wanted to maybe replace the carbon by leather, but I don't want to tamper with it unless I'm sure it can be done :). Love your work man!!! You're our god.

The recess is 0.03in, soooo bout 3/4mm.. our carbon fiber is .025" thick and our the adhesive film we use is .005"... Leather will be a lot more forgiving in thickness but i would recommend stiff saddle leather... i tried it with some some soft suede leather a while ago and it was pretty hard to get it to stick well... but you may have better luck... at any rate, good luck! Use naphtha or zippo fluid to soften the our adhesive that's holding the carbon in place, should come up ok if your gentle..
