I am also using one of Leos DBL o-ring drip tips, which grip it a bit better. I am not sure why, but I have been getting a funky taste today, I think it is because of the coil, I think I want to see what a 3 OHM coil will act like, in the Sophia/BB, I am going to have to try to build one this weekend.

Ok I am quoting myself, I think I know why I was getting a funky taste. I had to think about it for awhile, and on my way home today, I took a drag off my provari, that I am using a sophia on, then I took a drag off my BB, and I realized what the difference is. On a provari the sophia has a somewhat restricted air flow from screwing it on. There are air flow channels etc, but it is still restricted. The billet box has almost no air restriction, and I don't think that the sophia can keep up with all that air flow. I just put a piece of scotch tape over 2 of the BB's air holes, and now I have been able to close the sophia back up some, and I have my flavor back again. :)

i must have missed something kat, i havent heard about any new cartos, but did see something about DP cutting down a fillerless nitro (still curious how that worked out)

as for my bridge its machined beautifully, fits perfectly, and does not leak, but after 3 juices and 3 coils, when it was good it was only as good as a boge carto. So for now i have decided that the ease and consistency of cartos works for me, im going to put my focus on finding the best carto

You need to be a nice Kat and give us some advance intel if/when the new ones are available. ;)

Oh dear, oh my, oh shoot. (ha ha)

Snakester, I do promise to honor and obey your request. When the Ikes are on the shelves, I'll be squealing that news here.

ABRCN (mind if I come up with a new name for you? too many letters for this little brain to handle)... You haven't missed a beat. Some of us here (namely the DPL and me) are testing out some new kartos for Mr. IKV. This is truly preliminary information and of course we'll let you all know when and if.

DPL did brainify a new concept utilizing a fillerless karto from IKV known as the Nitro ProCoil. He (and I'm speaking in his sleepy absence) started noticing an increase in flavor and vapor with the fillerless karto after vaping it for a bit of time, and brilliantly came up with the idea that it might be a contender as a Billet Box specialty karto along the lines of a Billet Bridge or a Sabot, but with the ease and body of a simple karto. He should be getting the cut-to-size tester this weekend, so at this point, I'll step back into the DPL shadows and let him take the reins on his discovery. (should he be too shy to discuss it...... yeah/no.)

Air, Borne, Recon (could you GET a longer name, dude??), I think ALL coils are somewhat "industry standard" at around 7-10ml prior to degradation, on the average. That includes every form, be it clearo coils or those enclosed in a cute little stainless steel tube. Some may perform with greater or lesser longevity, but on average, we all know they're simply a hugely disposable piece o' gear. If you find you like the ease and konsistency of a karto (and you KNOW I do agree), I say do focus on that.

For me, the best karto for the B Box is the slotted variety... IKV being number 1 if available, and Boge taking the silver. They seem to feed quite a bit better than any of the punched I've tried.

I was going to say that you took the words right out of my mouth, but (a) Meat Loaf has already used that line, and (b) see below.

Kind sir...... please do not use "Kat" and "bag" in the same sentence. It won't end well.

;)

Yeah, um, THAT was close!

I'm not sure what DPL is up to regarding his ideas with these Nitro Cartos, but I ordered a few as well and will see what new and great vape can be discovered in my back room laboratory......
Perhaps we can compare notes with any successes....

As Kat indicated, a thought occurred...

And with the help of 5cardstud, THE preeminent IKV'er, AND karto-kutter-extraordinaire, I now hold in my possession one Nitro Fillerless, with the nice big holes, that SHOULD fit inside the BB tank. Life has kept me from being able to test it this week, but tonight I will initiate the process of inserting and testing.

Given my experiences with these cartos, it will be best if I can somehow find patience (HA!) before issuing any reports. What I know, outside of the Billet Box, is the following:

1. They perform quite well at low heat (increased battery life, anyone?).
2. They seem to get BETTER with age, instead of worse. Go figure.
3. I've been running a couple, in their natural XL size, for 3 or 4 weeks, and they're both still going strong.
4. The aforementioned 5cardstud (aka J5) has been running one for over TWO MONTHS, and says that it's continuing to improve.

So all that being said, yes, I will begin testing this weekend (assuming the kut-karto does fit well, of course). But results may be a bit in coming. I'll likely provide snippets ("It worked", "It's tasting good so far", etc..) but final conclusions won't come for AT LEAST a few weeks.

And to J5, IF he wanders in, I hope you don't mind me dragging you into this. The fact is that I couldn't have done it without you, and I thought that warranted acknowledgment. Here's to you, buddy. :toast:

Fingers krossed...

And Kat - thanks for the kind words, but you know better.

Have a great day, all!!!

I dont mind if you shorten my name, but you can just make it ABN, thats military shorthand for Airborne, and yes it could get longer as recon is short for reconnaissance :D

I have only tried boge pre punched so far and im getting about 15 ml out of each one, if i can get so IKV when i need to reorder ill try them, if not ill just get boge slotted. I actually thought about ordering and cutting down a nitro which is how i found DPL's post. ive got a mini pipe cutter for cutting brake lines that would work perfect on cartos, im just not sure what the internal makeup is
