I have a question about battery usage times. I am wondering do you get more or less batt time out of LR cartos?

You'll probably get less, because the current drain is going to be higher, even if you've adjusted your volts to get the same power (watts).

ETA: E(volts)/R(ohms) = I(amps)

Theoretically, you should be able to throw in a 1.7 Ohm resurrector, swing the dial to 5.5 volts and achieve 17.8 Watts. But I'm sure there's an amp limit in the circuitry. Can DD shed some light on that?

That said, not many folks in their right mind would vape a carto north of 10 Watts. LOL.

I think the amp limit is 3a, possibly 3.5a.

yup, bout 3 amps, but that said it will not shut off but rather drop off. the bbs board was really designed for 3 ohms, less will work to a point but it's a waste of the native voltage. Those of you that find you never go over 4.85v could even try using some 3volt rcr1234a cells too (they generally cost less). The circuit will shut off if you over work it though, but that is to do with the chips temperature....

Great info. Thanks a bunch! That's a very good amp limit for carto-tanks. The only time that would be a problem is with low-ohm rebuildables. I only say "problem" due to a lot of rebuildable folks liking to run aroun 1 Ohm and high wattage. :)

I punch them myself. I get one to three weeks on a carto. Some boges last longer then others.
seconded, not all boges are created equal.. every once and a while i'll get that magic one that cranks out great mega vapor and last forever, then some times i'll fill one up and then throw it away 5 min later.... the bummer of cartos, but still... convenient.

DD: What did you use to darken the BilletBox logo engraved into the inside of the BB? I got mine today and mines discolored around the logo. It looks like it was not completely cleaned up. What can I use to clean it?

99.875% epoxy tinted black. Occasionally there will be a little pinhole in the epoxy filler and i'll fill that with a little black acrylic, that's probably what your seeing, so just a little water on a q-tip should get it.

I like this saddle valve for punching C-style Self-Piercing Saddle Valve SV-6, 1/4", SV-6-QC - SV-6-QC - Amazon.com doesn't require the allen wrench and the support is tight on the carto prevent deformation.

Included in the pic is another kind of punch for DD...this was my Great-Grandfather's Remington Harness Jack, tang stamp places date of manufacture between 1923 and 1934. Very likely the punch was used to put caps in dynamite, my family has a long history of coal mining.
