BUTTT, i have it down to two main designs that have legs, pulling the trigger on one is up to a few things,,, like cost, ease of rewicking, stuff, other things,, time, monkeys, i'v been drinking... space llamas...

Yeah, I'm getting antsy and stoked at the same time :p

I love my BB! I am really liking the delrin tank, too. I am playing with 2 favorite cartos right now. The Ikenvape standard pre punched with the nice big holes are kicking ...., and these slotted Boges that have popped up at a few vendors. No probs whatsoever. But I pretty much stick to the tobacco end of the flavor spectrum, and I hand rinse/wash my tanks. It's the simplicity of the device I love. And the rugged, compact build. My only complaint is that I don't have a second one... Yet.

handy data sheets - cheers - saved for reference :) although second one won't load - keeps timing out..

Looking at the data though - propylene glycol is not listed

but the general glycol resistance is high..and propylene resistance is poor - so it's feasible the PG could either be fine or pretty poor or even somewhere in between....

Glycerol or glycerine isn't listed so cant reference and who knows what is in the flavourings that could be pretty poor as far as nitrile is concerned..

#nailpuppy - not quite sure how to take that post - trying to decide whether you're taking the mick out of someone just because they used a genuine big word... ;)

Glycerin shows to be a 4...... the ones you listed in your post have the same values for nitrile and for silicone...thinking there may not be much difference between nitrile and silicone in this application.....and could the ultrasonic dunk be the main issue here....don't know....but my tank has no bad taste either.....good luck.....maybe get a new tank and try again....

I'm having a hard time believing that I am the only person who owns a Billet Box to have noticed this? Maybe other owners use juice that is so strong in flavour and nicotine content for it to be undetectable? But trust me - It was there- I offered it to 4 other vapers and their faces and reactions confirmed my findings also.

I've had my BB for months, have used countless different flavors from several different vendors, and have not noticed an off taste. And I have to mention that I do taste things others don't seem to. I have to transfer all juice out of plastic bottles into glass because when they sit for a while I can taste a "plasticky" undertone.

Not sure what you could be doing differently, but I hope it gets figured out! :)

yeah same thing happens to me - I had to move all my DIY to glass bottles because the plastic tones were spoiling them at least for my palate - ..

I would totally blame my palate for this if only it weren't for the fact that 5 other people could notice it too - but granted nowhere near as bad as I did...

Cheers to everyone using the word exacerbate.
edit:

Any word that reminds me of Shaun of the Dead is a positive word :)

I got my stainless core & carbon fiber driptip (BC4) from Drip Tip Designz today, looks great on the BB. Bonus: The whole thing now fits in the little cubby hole under a shelf on my desk, but just barely.

VipK1uO.jpg

Very cool looking drip dip! I am using an aluminum mini vase, but now must have one similar to that one!!

hehehe....loved Shaun of the Dead.

Also, about that earlier post with the carto punching. I punched 3 times as my punch tool makes a pretty small hole and no way of adjust depth anymore (as the threads are bottomed out at that point). Guessing vaping habit affect a person's preference of carto hole sizes and quantities since some sip and some chug...hehe.

Just FYI, the case I posted earlier in the thread (PSP Go soft case from amazon - just google it ya lazy bums) works wonderful. Holds the BB with my mini vase tip installed no issues.

Very curious how others store additional tanks..empty? Full with carto in place? Don't do it? Thinking small outting but possibly wanting additional flavor but without carrying the kitchen sink. That is one very cool function of the IBTanked tanks with a Thingie (yes that is what they call there plastic vials). Carry full, small form factor and totally sealed from mishaps.

@Retird - Thanks for the chart. It lists beer, so cool I can vape beer in the BB, good to know......hahaha.

@DD of BB, it was one thing to view your BB online and see the photos. Looked cool, good reviews so I wanted to buy. But after I got one in my hands, wow. Not sure everyone can appreciate what you go through to mill those babies as tight as they are and polishing, but freakn NICE! :thumb: I absolutely knew how to open the BB, but when I recieved it, there was a staring contest for several minutes just looking for the seam lines for opening. The people I've handed it to so far, never see them. Vapes as good as it looks! Thank you brother, for one fine product. :2cool:

Opps, at work and been on big brother's network for long enough.:matrix:

whenever i get batteries from lighthound (that's where i usually get my batteries), i grab a couple of these:

https://www.lighthound.com/Ballistic-Nylon-Battery-Case-with-Keyring_p_3716.html

they hold 2 tanks side by side very nicely and securely, and are also good for holding extra batteries, cartos, drip tips, doohickys, doodads, thingys, and gizmos. i don't keep them on my key chain, though-that would be a nightmare for me, as i have a bunch of keys and other stuff taking too much pocket space up already. they do fit nicely in my backpack, in my vape bag, and really do come in handy.

Finally got my post count to sufficient level to be able to post on this thread!

I used to lurk in the background for few months until i was able snatch my box from the 300 units batch couple of months back. I have loved the box so decided to make a little review of it. (Please excuse the broken english)

A little off topic, but it concerns my BB.

I have a question for those who have been using Boge for a while. I started with Smoktech cartos and never had any issues with occassionally coming across a lower ohm value carto (almost always above 3 ohms for SR). But almost every box of Boge I get seems to run 2.7 or 2.8 and occassionally I find a 2.4 ohm. Well, the very first of the new laser sloted Boge cartos was a 2.4 ohm in which I inserted into a tank of existing ejuice behind a Smoktech carto (in the BB). Primed using same method as Smoktech and it was a horrid, dry burn taste. I adjusted the voltage all the way down to 4 volts and still the same thing. Reprimed carto and tried everything I know, but still horrible (it was fully primed too). I have noticed the same thing in the past occassionaly with my Provari and Boge, but had so many Smoktech cartos, I just tossed it aside and move on. I really want these slotted cartos to work for me, so just checking to see what I am missing? The odd part is we are only talking a couple of watts difference. Weird that it taste so horrible. Going to break out another Boge in a little while and try again. But if anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

I just got back from vacation and just busted out my shiny new BB. I use Boge's as well. It was very harsh even set at 4volts. My first Boge I tried in the BB was 2.7Ω. It was properly primed also. Kinda bummed. I only have a single 5-pack of Boge's, so I can't try another 'batch'.

Guess I'm back vaping on my EA Mod. I was hoping that the BB would bring me back to loving cart's, but it's looking like I'm still having a bad taste in my mouth (Pun intended) with cart's. For now, my new BB is sitting on my desk.  : pouts :

The "bad Boges" thing seems kind of odd. My SR's usually meter out to about 2.8-ish and work great as long as I slot them correctly for whatever liquid I intend to use (not too big for thinner liquids, not too small for thicker). But LR's or anything below 2.5 ohms almost always vape hot/taste burned to me.

A tip on metering out your cartos - make sure you account for any impedance from the leads or probes. It's not uncommon for leads to add up to half an ohm to meter readings. If the meter has an REL (Relative) function, touch the probe tips together -- don't hold 'em together with your fingers, it can throw the reading off -- and hit that REL button. Then measure again. Otherwise, just note the value and subtract it from the straight carto reading.

If the end result is much below 2.5 ohms, you may have received LR instead of SR cartos.

Another more far-fetched idea is that the cartos are slotted or have been punched near where the coil leg solders to the tube body. I don't know that would cause this kind of problem, but it's conceivable that some kind of damage near the leg/tube body union could create a hot spot that would cause a burned taste even if the overall impedance is OK. I usually slot mine on the opposite side of where the coil leg exits the top of the center tube and goes down into the fill material to try to slot on the opposite side of that solder connection for that very reason (cutting through the leg is also a great way to kill a carto).

Hey thanks for the replies. I wasn't meaning to knock Boge or anything, just figured maybe I was missing something. But good news, just tossed in a second Boge (grabbed one of the laser hole cut instead of laser slot cut) and it vaped perfect.

Fraggboy, toss another one and give it a go. And/or grab another brand.

Hey Vapian, thank you and great info. It was not just a hot vape, it was burnt filler vaping. I got about <0.1 ohm lead resistance (usually Fluke makes pretty good stuff). But even taking that into account, that 0.4 to 0.6 ohm difference between cartos works out to just over 2 watts at the high end using 5 Volts. I must be missing something else that is causing my issues. Maybe like you said, something is close to touching and a Fluke isn't picking it up. But under current it is making some contact somewhere else. May just have to carefully cut this one apart to investigate.

Investigate......while vaping on this really sweet BB!! :2cool: Or toss the carto and just vape...

I've posted this excellent Phil video before but it's worth watching again (or worth watching if you've never seen it). The section of the video that deals with burnt cartos starts at the 23:17 mark.

A burnt carto is a burnt carto whether or not it's a LR or an SR, and has everything to do with a lack of vliquid getting to the coil. Once burnt, toss it out. There is no way to bring it back to an unburnt state.

I hope this in some way helps those that may be having carto issues.
