Why is it that when my BB falls out of my pocket, its always onto a concrete car park floor, and never onto a carpet / sofa / bed? So, after 8 months or so of hard use, my BB was starting to look a little rough around the edges. I have tried giving it a brushed finish a few times, but it never lasts long.

I decided to buy some brushed alu effect vinyl and do my own wrap:

While I was at it I covered the carbon fibre in 4D carbon vinyl, which looks pretty realistic I must say.

The first version covered the sides in aluminium wrap also, but it looked sort of weird, so I opted for the simple strip around the middle.

On another note, I bought some 9mm ID x 1.5mm tank O rings, from ebay, to replace the ones that my Diver V2 shredded ( still leaking! ) but there too tight. Can anyone link me to some that are known to work, preferably in the UK / Europe.

Well THAT looks nice!!! AND inspired me to dig out my x-long stilleto drip tip! I'd forgotten how good it looks on the BB! :D

Welp, it appears I may have opened Pandora's box o' Divers.
(and not completely unintentionally) ;)

Crocky, welcome to the growing crowd! I had to laugh (with you) at your comment about 'folks saying how much better they are'. There's a whole lotta Unicorn chasing going on with many of us. I've sent that Unicorn out to pasture. He was just..... too odd. I might love a particular jacket, but if it takes 27 minutes to get that fa-lippin' zipper on its track, welp, I'm opting for the button up coat.

(Oh! And we can also start a sub-sub group of Boge SR slotted carto users, if you like. There are at least 4 of us now!)

DPL, I'm certain that we use the identical cartos. I think the child producing one and I jumped on them right around the same time (didn't we, Fall Seasonette? And yes, of course I knew we ditto'd...;) ). Mine are lasting a good 3-4 weeks, but I always find that vliquid dependent. <insert shameless plug for NLV here>

Dayloon, welcome! Take a seat next to the Crocks. :) Which cartos did you order?

cogsandgears, lookin' spiff!

Kataphraktos, which cartos were you using that tasted burnt and metallic? Are you sure they were soaked to the bone? I spend a good bit of time priming them because, welp, I'm a big proponent of Delayed Gratification...

I started vaping in May 2013, spent the first month struggling with various 510 attys and cartos. I tried many different ones, I cannot recall, but all the usual suspects, as I gathered info on what was available from ECF. Then I got my first rebuildable, Leo's Dripper Pro, and moved to rebuildables right away.

I know I am coming off as a typical RBA snob, but I don't mean to. In fact, I posted a long monologue in another thread about how I am talking to a couple of manufacturers of high-end devices about moving towards more plug-and-play designs, without all the wick and coil and zapping and wrapping and air control and juice control and make it stop already. I love tinkering, but most people want something that approaches as much as possible the ease of use of the analog: pull one out, light her up, and take a drag.

The BB with a carto gets really close.

Reading your post and replying just gave me a heck of an idea. Hint: what's the one real physical difference between a slotted carto and the v2 Diver? Looks like I'm spending the evening with Sera wool and a pair of scissors.

I ran out of cartos and decided to give the Diver a shot lol. I'm sure that I'll figure out a perfect build eventually lol.

Come by the Diver thread, we can drive Konstantinos crazy together. Sheesh, if you live in NYC, I can probably build it with you in person.

Oh I soooo understand. I spent the entire first year of vaping using stock 510 and 306 and 901 attIEs. Bash me, hate me, yell at me, but I did drip and drive. Badkat. I gave all of that up once I used my first cartos. That led to carto tanks (duh). I rarely drip these days but when I do (oh no! World's most interesting man..... get out of my head!)...

I don't hear you as a typical RBA snob at all. I really do know the feeling of wanting better. I experienced the same thing when switching from 3.7v devices to 5v. Once ya go 5... welp you know. ;) Absolutely P & P would be the ticket! Will you please keep us all updated on your journey with the manufacturers you've contacted? I can safely guess that nearly everone would LOVE the ease of pull one out, light her/him up, and take a drag! That may be the one part of smoking that was cool.

Ummm....... is this a pop quiz? I don't have a Diver, so I'll have to let someone else answer that one. Hope you, Sera, and the scissors have a lovely evening together. :)

First of all, I have to say that I'm impressed that you chose Waterhouse's Pandora...I love Pre-Raphaelite paintings...

Your analogy about the jacket & zipper is perfect. I'm a sensible shoes and pants-with-many-pockets person.

I never jumped on the genny bandwagon, the videos I saw of them all screamed "fiddly PITA".

Also, I stay away from attys whose praises start with "Once you get it right..."

But what I saw of the Diver, (and Sophia, another RTA) NEVER gave me even the slightest impression that I would have this much trouble with them.

I sold my Sophia this morning. I'm going to give the Diver one more round of experimentation to see if I can "get it right".

Regarding the cartos...

I had been using the pre-punched, single 2.3mm hole Boge SR cartos in my BB. I always primed them (cap method thru the 510) and let 'me sit for a while before vaping. No burnt flavors, just very muted...and I seemed to have airflow issues with them. This could be the reason for the muted flavors.

I have a shtload of punched and unpunched Boge cartos, and I'm pretty darned good with a Dremel...

Not to take my own name in vain, but Dare I try slotting a couple myself? If so, any tips on number of slots, location, dimension of slots, techniques, winning lottery numbers you can offer?

Thank you, Akdare. :) Also a fan of the Waterhouse.

"sensible shoes", eh? I have NO idea what that means. ;)

I do wish you the best with your Diver. And I wholeheartedly agree that if it's sold with the warning label "once you get it right", welp, sorry, not fer me! I and the other carto (tank) lovers will await your return to the filler side.

The 2.3 Boges are wonderful, but not for the B Box (imo). The B Box for whatever reason seems to require the carto to have a lot more vliquid entry space. I was struggling with it initially, until I discovered the slots.

Oh take your name in vain! S'ok! And yes, abstolutely Dare doing a couple of your own Dremel magic. Should you wish to copy the existing ones, they have only one slot which resides midway (vertically of course) and the top of which is 45.2mm from the very bottom of the 510 connector. The slot itself is 28.5mm by like a mm. Technique? Plug in that puppy and let it rip! (Not that I have any personal experience... I'm rather fond of my fingers.)

Winning lotto ..... that's easy. 13. ;)

DEFINITELY keep us non-fiddling carto peeps updated on the "plug and play" design!! :)

Thank you! My first go at vinyl wrap, I think it helps that its decent quality.

Well THAT looks nice!!! AND inspired me to dig out my x-long stilleto drip tip! I'd forgotten how good it looks on the BB! :D

Thanks :) These tips come in brass too. Thinking about getting one of those. I got a 50mm long one too, but don't think its slender enough to look right on the BB.

If it's open invitation, make it 5. :)

Are some cartos better than others? I just ordered SR boge cartos.

That's a very difficult question to answer friend. It's all about personal preference really. I personally abhor Boge cartos now. They used to be great cartos, but the really did change for the worse about a year ago, IMO. For me, Ikenvape really is the way to go.
