Ok...so I got mine on Jan.6th. Ordered some pre-made wires with non res. tails for the diver 2. Have a 2.2 ohm coil with cotton and this thing tastes great! I've gone thru about 45mls. of dirty monkeys botched batch of Nemp extract trying to dial in a flavor I can vape. I finally found it tonight! Up until now I haven't had a chance to enjoy this thing. So my question is, do I slide this across the kitchen, garage floor or go straight to the drive way? The thing is so flawless. Like the video of that guy building coils for the diver on this. He drops it on the table and he's stunned and says "oh my baby". Kinda funny, but true...I'm tempted to sell it before I hurt it. Lol:laugh:

How many wraps and what gage did you use to get 2.2 ohms, and what voltage are you at? I've got a V2 coming, and I plan on using cotton rather than silica, and I usually shoot for 2-2.2 ohms on my Kayfun style attys, but the Diver is a bit intimidating to me, because I suck at rebuilding and the space for the coil is so tiny. Any tips?

The wire I used was pre made and purchased at DiscountVapers - Your source for savings on electronic cigarettes and accessories, Go-go eGo, vGo I only could wrap 5 times with this wire and it was smaller than 30g. which takes about 11 wraps. It metered out at 2.2 as advertised. The needle is what I wrapped around. I'm at 4v now and haven't turned it up because it took me about two weeks just to get this far. I'll try later because I'm reluctant to wreck this bad boy just yet.

I haven't tried a all resistance coil yet, but have heard they work fine too. When I made the coil, I kept the needle in place and bent the wires under the cap. Then tucked the cotton in the opening of the needle and pulled both through. Will twist slightly as you can see. Works REAL fine:)

With magnifying headgear, and good lighting even this old, worn out man can make perfect coils in these little spaces. I still have pretty good eyesight, but could never build coils confidently in these small spaces above without my gear. Piece of cake when one can see exactly what's going on.

Sophia will not work..

I've tried it with the Diver V2 and a Boge slotted 3ohm coil..

Both work well but the Diver will give better flavor IMHO..

The Diver is a bit finicky to setup for BB use and I am still trying to find it's sweet spot.

A carto will be much easier as you only need to prepare it and plop it in.

The Diver is awesome, it's rebuildable and will end up being much cheaper in the long run than constantly buying cartos.

You are talking about Diver 2 throughout? I traded away a Diver just a month ago... (Diver 1)... omg...

First of all, loving the hell out of my bb. A couple hours after getting it I perma-loaned my svd to a friend to try to get her to switch to vaping.

I did notice one thing. From the moment I got it the door of mine is very rough to open and close. Right after I opened it the first time I noticed some oxidation so I cleaned it with a little paper towel and oiled the tracks, ball, and sides of the door with olive oil. But, I have never been able to open it one handed like I see in all of the videos. It feels like as soon as the ball is in the track it pushes too hard up on the door. Anyone else have this issue and know of an easy fix?

P. S. I got this brand spankin new from Billet box

I started having issues with my door after a couple of months. I tried cleaning with paper towel and tooth pick then coating the tracks with petroleum jelly. Not so good. Tried the fabric softener sheets. Again not so good. I came across some old treatment I bought for my audio system wires called "DeoxIT D5". Works like a charm. I think the prime culprit is the spring loaded ball. It seems to seize up after awhile. The DeoxIT cleans it up nicely.

i just googled it and it seems to be readily available.

Something else you may want to try first. DD at BB actually recommends a drop of olive oil on a clean cloth to use for lubrication. The ball is stainless steel and does not oxidize the same way as all the aluminum does. Also, unless it has changed, there is not a spring behind the SS ball, it is another nitrile ball like on the tank fill lock (which is actually pretty ingenious since it will be stronger and will not give as much over time like a spring). So pushing down on the SS ball and rotating, while applying some olive oil will more than likely loosen up the open/close action of your door. He also recommends the same treatment for the slides.

The product I have is likely 10 years old. It is made by Caig Labs and is labeled DeoxIT D5 5% spray. My product is in a small spray can about the size of an inhaler cartridge for asthma. It is specifically for electrical connections, switches and contacts.

Here is the Amazon link that seams to be the same as what I use: Amazon.com: CAIG DeOxit Cleaning Solution Spray, 5% spray 5oz: Musical Instruments

Mr. Drunk, in a few posts I've seen you say that the SS ball can be pushed down and rotated. Welp....... mine can't be. It is immovable - absolutely and completely. Do you perhaps have a Martha Stewart-esque tip for that situation? I long for a rotating ball. I dream of it, in fact.

Ok. I am not Mr. Drunk, nor do I play him on TV, but I would try the following.

Put a couple of drops of alcohol on said ball. Let it soak a couple of minutes. Take the eraser end of a pencil, put it exactly vertical on top of the ball, and push down really hard. Hopefully, this will pop it free, and then you can rotate your ball till your heart's content.
