I'll do that. Thanks for getting me on the right path!

The sophia was designed for use in a carto tank, and in order to get it to work in the BB, you have to get in this way, or it will be to long. The By Leo thread is a big thread to read, just ask Billie any questions you may have. There are others there that know a lot more then me.

We're waiting on some of those too, 67. And thank YOU for that lead!!!

Back to Snake. SINCE you brought it up, I believe our resident Darling might have had a conflicting, and somewhat harrowing, experience with one of her rebuilt Saboooo coils. It did something I don't think anyone's ever seen before. And if they had, they certainly hadn't reported it anywhere.

I don't want to steal any more of her story. I'll leave it for her to finish, when she's able to. Besides, I have to get my fanny to work.

Ah, the suspense... :D

I'll tell ya next week. ;)

Ok, having vaped thru a myriad of new types of B Box heating elements and having had to learn a whole slew of new rules .... (don't do this, do that, not THAT!) ... I will tell you that the Sabooooooooo had been performing fairly well. Well enuf that I chanced fate and allowed it residence in my new (and gorgeous and I love it) "Scarlet" (Firebald) B Box. That in itself should tell you I had total faith that there would be no leaks.

Being me (not always an easy task, but fun as hell(o)), I OCD'd myself into pulling the cover down to check for leakies since my somewhat WET experience with the cut down fillerless carto. It was fine for quite awhile. The tank at this point was a tad over 1/2 full.

I was optimistic. <insert pun groan here>

AHA! What is THAT!?? Drippy stuff on the batteries? Oh noooooooooooooooo.

Ok. Now what would YOU do? Of course you'd remove the tank and clean out the B Box, right? And you'd check to see how bad the leak was and if it did indeed get behind the tank.

Here's where things got EEEENteresting. In removing the screw/nut/bolt/thingie, what happened. What happened was that it was leaking out of the top screw! HUH? I have no explanation and am sharing this for no particular reason, tho I do wonder if anyone else has had any sort of a leak out of the top.

As a direct result of this, I've taken to setting down the B box on its side, air holes up. In that position, the liquid has no place to go. I'm not crazy about this as an answer, but for now, it helps my situation.

NOTE: Key difference her not mine rebuilt Sabot coils. ;)

Snakeness, I have NO doubt that anything you rebuild would be about a bazillion times better than mine, but I'm not sure that applies here. Still and all, I will keep your key differences in mind. ;)

Desert Vapes offers a good price on Boge slotted cartos.

As does vapelite. BOGE 510 SR SS SLOTTED CARTOMIZERS (5 PACK) - $4.75 : VapeLite your source for Boge quality electronic cigarettes, Boge electronic cigarettes

Ceramic-Coil

I have been using these in carto tanks for 9 months now they work great, a good choice when you cant seem to get a diver in stock anywhere.

KAS

KAS, are you saying you've been using the ceramic coil in karto tanks? I have those on a By Leo Dripper Pro, but I'm unclear... how would you use those in a KT?

Oh, pieces and parts! Starting to make sense. I'll read thru the Leo thread. Thanks man! Appreciate the links and help.

Kinda funny, my forum name is from a 1967 Telecaster, designed and made by Leo Fender. He left Fender eventually and went into partnership making GBL guitars...Guitars By Leo.

Pretty cool!

And here all this time I figured you just had a thing for rotary telephones. The truth trumps the legend in this case.

Yes I have 4 sophia's in carto style tanks, using them in the billet box was new for me I have been using them sense last xmas, the sophia uses the same coil as the dripper pro does. let me see if I have a pic. The 2 tanks in the center have sophia's in them, you should be able to zoom in on them.

He speaks the truth, that snake. It's entirely possible that you'll have it.

I ordered one on a holiday weekend and had it on Thursday. I reside in the same state as you. That's not a guarantee, but at least the possibility remains for you.
And it happened. Ordered my BilletBox on Saturday, delivery is scheduled for Thursday. Ordered the BilletBridge on Sunday, its getting delivered today. AMAZING!

My problem is I like a very 'airy' draw. I use the same juice all the time, different vanilla flavors from MBV 65PG/35VG and while I love the Sabot-DDD, it does develop leaks from time to time - very random, might go days, might be one day later - who knows?

I like and enjoy cartos. But I find that I must change the carto almost daily, which for my limited fixed income is a bit painful. Cartos do not leak (in my knowledge) ever. But they become hard-pulling rather quickly. Personally I dislike slotted, but that my also be due to the juice that I use. I find that a single small hole is all that is needed for me. I have tried smok, boge, and also the much more spendy brands and find little difference - but then my taste buds are pretty weak.

The BB is my all day unit, and my ProVari with a Nautilus is my backup device. My hands are such, that rebuilding anything is out of the question for me, and I have some days that I can't even hold my beloved BB.

There is soon to be released a new 'topper', much like the Nautilus but with even larger air hole choices. I plan to get one of these, even though it's not for the BB, but simply so that I have a good second choice for the days I can't use my BB.

Be sure to get the best only, correct batteries for your BB - I would suggest buying at least four, if not six of them. I personally get roughy a half day out of a set of batteries, or, when leaving the house, I always swap in a fresh set just to be safe.

Just fyi since I see a lot of folks talking about leaks. Most of the issues with devices such as the Sabot are either o-ring, wick thickness (including those with flavor wick) or top tube connection with brass screw. That is if you have already proved the fill ball and tank face gaskets aren't it. Removing and inserting devices a lot, causes abrasions or cuts to the o-ring that are hard to see, but still leak. Trying new o-rings is a good idea. Also, just because it is a factory head (like ARO in the Sabot), doesn't mean it has the right amount of wick, which holds back the juice from leaking. The slots need to be full once expanded with juice (or with rayon wick shrinks). So using a little more wick on a leaky device might solve it. Some of us have the older, smaller o-ring on the brass screw (or the old screw with no o-ring) and you can get condensate through that path too.

So anyway, just a few items you'll can try out if you do have leaks. Most of the time, mine is 100% leak free. When it starts, usually I just toss in a new set of tank o-rings as I build my own ARO heads and check the wick fill before it even goes in the tank.

Edit - I prefer to have at least 4 sets of batteries, that way I can have two backups with me and one set on charge. And they don't last forever, so date them (when you get them in) and add a new set every now and then.

There is nothing worse than finding out you, indeed, DON"T have the correct batteries at home to fit the BB... And no appropriate batteries are on amazon to get them delivered next day.

It isn't next day, but RTD vapors are usually fast, good service and no worries over clone batteries.

Thank you for the suggestion. I ordered a set last night with the fastest shipping option. My REO will work for the weekend while I drool over the BB. I will say I am sorta peeved that we have over 10 different Vape shops in the area and none of them carry the batteries. This is the sort of thing that I want my brick and mortar to have in stock for these last minute sorts of things.
