So I'm in for my second try on the Billet Box and snagged a Blue Oyster Box yesterday. This time I have a Billet Bridge and some BVC heads and a Sabot on the way so I should be better prepared. Last time around I just couldn't handle the carto experience but loved the beauty and craftsmanship of the BB.

How'd you manage to get a sabot?

Here's a new pic for you. I decided it was weird vaping dark eliquid in a purple BB so I changed it to my copper carbon. Now it feels right. Phew.........

I can't for the life of me figure out why I read that laugh as sinister.

She's been known...

^^^Now, hear that using the teacher in the back ground from Charlie Brown with the last note going down in pitch.

Krismas, I LOVE that copper! Got a spare sheet for an up over bud by chance? (kidding, but it is really beautiful)

ahh, I got my batteries today... the dna install would have been up and running today too but last night I was trying to finish it up and let me tell you, the dna is very tight in the billet box, and because I have my screen mounted on the side of the mod screen positioning and chip positioning to get everything perfect was just really tough, I was playing with it and playing with it and in an effort to get the screen perfectly centered I applied a little too much pressure and pop, snapped the screen off of my last dna20

so now I have dna30's that I could probably just stick one in there tonight, or I have a dna40 chip coming to me that I'll probably have here by friday... trying to decide if I should wait the few extra days for the dna40 or just stick the 30 in there and call it done. really 20 watts would have been enough but even on my wizard that only takes one 18500 I still usually vape that one at 22-23 watts or so at times, so I guess the little extra headroom to go over 20 might not be such a bad thing. then the temp regulation of the dna40 might also be nice in a tank setup like this too... hmmm decisions decisions :) honestly I'm not even sure how high I'll be able to go with the diver or the bridge with bvc's, maybe the dn40 would be the best bet for the temp limit protection but of course no way I'm going to be running that one any where near it's upper limit here. does anyone know how high they can go in watts with a billet bridge and bvc coils? I'm guessing they may top out at only 13-14 watts or so stock before they can't keep up with the wicking? I guess a very tight airflow might also limit this too...

I picked up some aw's because with the dna I won't need any protection circuit and these should hopefully deliver enough power to go over 20 watts with no problem. I'm hoping I can build a satisfying vape at less than that because of the very limited battery life though.

I also made a new brass button and brass dial... I should have just gotten an extra tank instead of the fancy pearl button but I didn't think I'd be making a new button when I ordered this :) if anyone has a spare tank and would rather have a pearly button, hint hint :)

getting the dial to be functional is still going to be really tricky to pull off but I can't even work on that till I get the chip fully mounted

Wow, t'cad, that looks spectacular!

Sorry to hear about your last DNA20 board. I would think you'd do the 30 at this point tho, no? The 40 requires the nickel wires to utilize the temp feature, oh.... you prolly already have nickel attIEs built don't ya.

(I'm SUCH a modder...... NOT)

Looks great, really! So far VERY good.

thanks. after a little more research I realized the dn40 def needs 2 buttons that can be pressed at the same time to get into the temp control menu which would be much more difficult with the dial inside so I decided to just put the dna30 in this one.

I got it working so I shaved the lip off of the diver I got and tried to build it. I got a bunch of readywires with the diver but I looked at this stuff and it's like tiny thread... I chucked that back in the drawer and decided to try 28 ga. I like long coils with lots of mass so I decided to built a vertical and wick it carto style. I had to modify the ceramic so I could get the 28ga to even work, I also drilled out the one original hole in the side of the diver to 1/16th and made another hole on the opposite side, figured it should wick better with 2 1/16" holes and it does seem to be working well s far, no flooding. I am having to take a few primer puffs here and there but it hasn't even broken in yet, too soon to tell for sure :)

so far it works pretty good but the draw is a little tight, I gotta try to get a bit more airflow somehow and this build does lag a bit from a cold fire, next one I'll build a smaller ID and a bit less wire, but once it gets going it puts out a pretty nice vape. I hate the diver though, def would love something with a deck or screw retention for the coil I don't think I got a great connection to the coil I get a check atomiser warning from time to time and it's not a steady solid fire, it's almost like a loose connection at the coil tightening screws for an atty that has coil screws... is there anything for this bb tank that has good coil wire connections? I still have a bridge coming with some bvc's, hopefully there better to rebuild than the diver, this thing really would be sick with something like the kayfun mini in a square tank, I just don't want to butcher up my only kayfun mini, it's an awesome atty.

That is absolutely awesome. If only I had your skills.

And the post that pulled me from my hole-in-the-ground.

I would personally like to welcome THE 5cardstud (aka "J5", aka "5c", aka/aka/aka...) to The Billet Box thread. I don't have much to say right now, but THIS was important to me. A good man, and a good friend. And not just to me either.

Welcome, J5. :)

I'll be back.
