So now you're calling us blind people dumb? I'm cheap, I just use a marker. 1,1 2,2 etc.

I must be dumb. I don't know any others up at 3am working on their computers in their underwear.

No sir! Just as all dumb people are not blind (as I am The Living Proof).

Thanks (or something) for THAT visual, J5.:facepalm:

All of the sudden I'm looking forward to work. It might help move my brain along. :D

I'm alway in my underwear, unless I have to leave the house. Is there something unusual about that? :p

Yes. In any device that uses pairs that is HIGHLY recommended. I number mine with a P-Touch label (wrapped around the bottom section). 1a/1b, 2a/2b, etc..

Oh oh. I think I haven't messed up the pairings, but not having been clever enough to mark them, I may have done. I'll mark the BBox ones arriving tomorrow, but meanwhile, is there any sort of gizmo with which I can check my 18650's? Or are they now relegated to use exclusively in the P3? Only have one other mod that takes 2 batteries, so if I must, I must :(

If starting from scratch, I'd recommend six batteries, and a four-bay charger (assumes using one pair in the BB each & every day). It means you don't need to charge every day (and don't need to take charger away for a weekend, say). Otherwise, the only thing worse than having to remember to charge every day, is forgetting!

Rab D I have to disagree. You should charge everyday if you have dead batteries everyday because Li-ion batteries deteriorate faster in an uncharged state. So leaving them sit uncharged isn't good. I have some that are 5 yrs. old that still work great from keeping them charged.:2c:

I agree. I currently have 6 pairs for 3 Billet Boxes between my wife and I. I immediately charge a pair when they get discharged. The longest I ever wait to charge is a few hours overnight if a set quits on us just before bedtime. But then first thing in the morning they go right on the charger.

Well I'm certainly no battery no-it-all it's just something I read on battery chemistry when I started vaping. But the ones I let lay around dead for days on end are long gone. I have around 10 sets and try to rotate them.
Now here's a question. If you have one battery in a set of 2 fail what should you do with the one good one that's left? I have been keeping them and when another one fails I pair the 2 survivors. That's because I'm a cheap adz.

When I have one go bad I scrap the pair.

I plan on getting some more, but started with just the 4. I already have a good 4 bay charger so should be good on that. I tend to use multiple setups at work during the day, so I'll wait and see if I need more right away ;-)

Thanks for all the advice, could have done without the underwear visuals!

Well you have to take the good with the bad around here. :D And when people get old, like a lot of us around these parts, the inhibitions just drop away. HeII I've even been known to be out on the front porch in my underwear.

Yes. I've got this cool little "Battery Meter" thing that is perfect. I'll try to find where I found it and post it later. It's GREAT, and was pretty cheap (may $10 or less).

6 batteries is the perfect landing spot. It's been my recipe since day 1.

4 will be fine to start.

Batteries or underwear? :p
