I know what those cost. I've been in the industrial engine business for 25 yrs. None of those machines are cheap.
Seriously DD i really feel you need to rethink your sales strategy a bit here, its either opening a longer preorder list for as many folks to sign up over the course of a few hrs or revamping your site so that when someone adds the item to cart its secured til they pay for it and when its not paid after a certain period of time the order is cancelled automatically. The current system is too similar to the 310's site style of selling stuff, turns people off in the long run.

If he opened the list for a few hours there would be people on the list waiting until June 2014 to get theirs
I am sure DD wants everyone who wants one to get one but either he waits till he has 1000 ready to go or does preorders for next year...there just isn't a simple solution. At least he doesn't sell only at fests like Empire mods really limiting who can buy one.
Ok - I'm away from the web and this thread for a few days whilst Real life gets in the way and I come back to my PC tonight to find out that a pre-order was up and by the time I get to the site they're all gone.....
Yes I'm gutted - and now also a little bit annoyed and dare I say it a bit angry too...
I've wanted to get one of these ever since Christmas - I found out about it AFTER the pre-order was finished. - I showed it to my wife - she wants one and I recently got my Brother off a 50 year analogue habit and now he wants one - So I need to get hold of three units.. BUT it looks like it's never going to happen.
Especially now that it seems there will be no chance of another crack at the whip until the Middle of June?? - Six weeks is a short time and it's also a LONG time.. What I can see happening is that June comes around and I'll miss it again then for whatever reason - because demand will only increase in the duration. My chances of getting the 3 that I require are very unlikely.
I would much prefer to have my name on a list - where I KNOW for a FACT I will be able to purchase one at some point in the future instead of the turkey shoot it is right now.... Even if the wait is a few months - at least I know for sure I will get hold of one - as it is - I can realistically see that I will have to advise my wife and brother to just forget about ever having one because it's going to be nigh on impossible to be able to get hold of one.. Heck even if you make it to the confirm purchase button - and then find out that doesn't mean anything either!
Imagine if I put an item in my trolley at a supermarket and then when I got to the till the operator takes it off me and tells me it's someone else's! LOL - there'd be choice words in that situation
And the infuriating thing is that the website is Flash based I believe so I can't even use any of the monitoring add-ons for Chrome or fire/water fox that would have let me know that there had been a change on the web page and I could have at least been informed about the 2nd pre-order.
So - sorry If I'm sounding a bit bitter about it - but I'm going to have to force myself to lose interest in this device... By the time I manage to get hold of one I'll have probably given up Vaping!

My suggestions:
A waiting list or at least an email notification subscription system to let people who have been waiting know via an email that stock will be available on a certain date.... Not everyone can live in a forum or on face book waiting for information - but emails get delivered to people every day - much more efficient method... but I would prefer a list system......

Darthpistachio - all I can say is there will be a time when the feeding frenzy is sated and you will be able to order one. I was lucky enough to get in on the end of the first pre-order and in fact was likely one of the oversold pre-orders but DD handled it. I am sure DD will handle this pre-order and get back on it as fast as possible.
I am sure DD could farm this out to an outside manufacturer, use DNA 12 boards, and raise the price by 100 bucks but instead he has chosen to keep prices pretty low and the quality very high. The feeding frenzy is just the nature of the beast...

For every device I've wanted that was hard to get, I've gone through this very type of situation, whether it's pre-order or the devices are up for sale at that time. Sometimes I got what I wanted, sometimes I didn't. This appears to be the easiest most efficient way of selling limited items.
I missed the first pre-orders, by days. Then I missed last week's sale. I was very lucky today and was at the right place at the right time ( It think..unless I'm one of the over sold?) Of course I'm thrilled, but if I hadn't gotten through life would go on. I have lots of other devices that I can vape.
Most of the modders who make these sought after devices have other full time jobs and are doing this in their spare time!! Only so many can be made at one time to insure that the people who bought them don't have to wait for 2 years.
I'm truly sorry that everyone who wanted one didn't get one. It would be nice if we always won.
