So the Ravens will work in the BB without removing the flange? No problem with getting the door closed? How did you cut the carto down to standard length?

Haven't yet but I plan to use an end mill bit in a drill press to shorten it. Piece of cotton ball inside to catch the shavings. The flange is very thin, given the amount of play the tank has when the brass contact is screwed out I can't see it being an issue.

I will know in a few hours...lol

I'd be curious to know if the draw is any tighter in the BB than the Raven tank. I recall vapor production and flavor were fantastic but the draw was very airy. I like a tighter draw personally. You are going above and beyond what I was going to use to cut it down. I was going ghetto with my Dremel, lol
I was guessing the Raven had huge potential for non carto folks like myself.

To me it is just easier to use the drill press than to try and hand hold the Foreman or set up the jewelers lathe to do it. Put a bit in the drill press, Raven in the vice and pull down on the lever...can't get much easier.

Lest anyone forget this thing is a workhorse, too:

I think it takes it for biggest "blade" in a pic too, no? :D

Nope...not really a blade...pretty dull. But it is a big forking machine! In fact that thing could really fork you up.

awww ain't she a cutie with it's own lil atmistique baggie...now to get home and do sum trimming off the top

Hmmm. Wonder if mine will be arriving today?
Unfortunately I'm a bit under the weather with a touch of vertigo today ... should probably stay away from machinery for another 24 hours or so. Looking forward to your results, though!

have you considered using one of the quick tap qt1's? they're really cheap, and you can pick them up just about anywhere, including here:

Quick-Tap 1/4"-5/16"-3/8" O.D.: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

pbusardo did a little video review on it, and it seems to be a good, inexpensive way to punch cartos. i've already ordered one. honestly, so far the best carto punch i have is either the kir fanis one, or the one vaperfexion sells. both are a bit difficult to get and/or pricy, though.

I think I'll order one. I can't get my screw on the Siam punch to be sharp enough :/

I like the QT as it has a sort of auto stop feature. You cannot punch holes too deeply so it punches to the perfect depth. What I don't care for it the two part system (body and separate little wrench thingie) and the constant tightening and loosening of the screws to get the carto in and out. I find the $$$ VIP punch a whole lot easier, but I suppose those dollars signs had to pay for something, right? :)

The Tiny Mite looks pretty cool actually, and sounds a lot like the VIP with its carbide screw.

I think I'll get a QT for now, atleast until the VIP punch is back in stock. COV carries it too, so I'll sign up for stock notifications, heh. The Tiny Mite looks kinda cool too, I may even settle for that one if the VIP doesn't restock anytime soon.

I had the Tiny Mite and it worked good, the only problem is the point on mine was tiny, and only gave you one size hole, where the VIP punch which I use now has a spike which gradually gets larger, so you can make a bigger hole if wanted. Just don't go too deep :)

Of all the saddle valves I had used in the past for punching this one was by far the best. No tools needed and it seemed to deform the carto less than any other saddle valve punch.

I definitely will need to size the holes at points where I go higher in VG, so the VIP is looking good right about now lol.

I see so many looking for carto punches. Just wondering if you have ever used the tank system like this before?
If not may I suggest, before you get you beloved BILLET BOX, you practice.
Buy a cheap ego and tank set-up, and learn how to prime the cartos, insert them, and remove them, and punch them.
It is going to be alot of help when you get your Box.
You may also want to look for this tool....Refilling Drip Tip Tool....as it seems to come in very handy for me to slide the cartos in better.
Good Luck to all new carto users and future Billet Box owners:p

I've used plenty of tanks before, but the BB tank isn't quite tolerant to even minor deformities. If it's deformed, it'll slide in, but getting it out of the tank takes a hell of alot of pressure. I've been using the tank filler tool just to get it out. I'm pretty sure I'll break this tank at some point soon in the process...lol

Is that a diver, and will that work in the BB? Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm new to the thread, and was actually able to get in on the latest pre order, so I have some learning to do. I'm more into RBA, and not much of a carto guy, but couldn't resist the sweet a** design of the billet box. I've already heard the killer won't work with the BB.

And again, I'm sure this has all been discussed before, so my apologies to you BB vets out there.

I believe someone who has already tried it said it would but you have to take off about 2mm.

Mine didn't make it today...so sad...maybe tomorrow. At least I get to play with the Raven tonite in it's place. To be honest I will probably try it in a tank first. With the Ravens available I may just leave the Diver alone and use it in tanks for my pipes instead. Looks like it is shipping with the Killer replacement cup, explains why they dried up from Greek Vapes all of a sudden...lol.

Just ordered the QT. I hope this works out better, I really want to spare this tank from breakage!

Every time you refill the BB's tank take time to relube the o-rings...the bottom ring tends to cook to the carto and if you let it just stay there for several tankfuls it really locks in.

What is the QT?

It's a line tap valve, apparently works well to punch cartos.

Hmm, didn't know that.

Luckily, I remove the carto and rinse the tank every time I refill it from empty. I learned my lesson about lubing up the rings too, I make sure they're pretty much soaked now, hah.

Thanks for the tip though, didn't think it would bind to the carto. That might explain why my first carto was a pain to remove.
