I present to you, the BSD Lolipop. Tried to explain to the misus this is all in the name of vaping science, but she just keeps laughing!
(Works perfectly BTW)

How easy is it to remove the metal plate inside and the ball bearing thing? My ball bearing after a week of use is all marked up and wont close smooth anymore, I need a load of them so I can replace every week also the black lettering is falling off.Any ideas what to put into the engraving so it all goes black again? or do i just remove it all so it looks not so tatty?
Finally got around to dismantling my Diver/BB tank combo today after working great for about a week-and-a-half. Just got too antsy to do a rebuild. Got some pics ... wanna see 'em?
No? Too bad, you'll have to scroll past 'em.
A comparison between the stock Diver tube body and the one that was shortened. Shaved off just under 2mm total.

A comparison between the stock Diver base and the one that had the flange ground off. Took just over 0.75mm off the diameter.

Diver center pin in position. Not sure exactly how much was ground off, but it was enough to be level with the thread collar.

Profile comparison between the four components.

First successful NR-R-NR coil build using 32 AWG Nickel NR wire and 36 AWG Nichrome resistance wire connected with reef knots - a solid 3.3 ohms. And ... it sucked.
For the Diver I do NOT recommend anything over 3.0 ohms. The Diver just doesn't hit as hard as a carto there.
It seems to perform best between 2.0 and 2.5 ohms. I used 2.0 inches of 32 AWG Kantal A-1 with the same NR wire to hit ~2.3 ohms, which runs great at 5.0 volts.

Close up of the 3.3 ohm coil. The 2.3-ish ohm coil I eventually achieved has a couple more wraps around the doubled-up 2.0 mm silica wick.
BTW, I also don't recommend dry-burning to clean the coil. The discoloration you see in this ceramic cup is due to an attempt at dry burning, which did not really do a good job of cleaning the coil and wick anyway.

Diver in the tank, top view. Since the tube body screws on to the base, there's about 0.5 mm of play in the total length once the tube mates up with the o-ring on the base, depending on how far it is screwed down.

As for wick position relative to the hole, I'm pretty solid in the "wick just next to the hole" camp. If I turn it 90-degrees out from the hole there's too much gurgling, and if either wick end is lined up with the hole it's Dry Hit City.
Now that I'm comfortable with rebuilding and pretty confident of the performance ... Maybe tomorrow, maybe next weekend I'll grab some pics of the modification process and maybe make a coil building video. Atmistique has already made one which helps a lot, but I might have a tip or two and/or some additional info to throw into the mix by then.
tank o ring = 1.5mm x 9mmSome body know the real size of the O-ring for the tank and the red one for BB
Doug writed some where but can't find it
Awesome, i get to play with it uh? SWEEEET... i have high hopes! BSD Condor...sounds good! you make it, you name it, them's the rules!I don't even have one yet, and I'm already modding!
Vape Claus brought me a little BB tank today. There is now no doubt the "BSD Condor"will work perfectly in the Billet Box(hey, Gotvapes dreams up names for stuff all the time, and so can I lol)!
perfect fit

Will wick it and rig some power to it this weekend and vape a tank or two. Then off it goes to Utah for a look see.
......that's the same thing the lady at the drivethrough just said.![]()
sounds endearingly familiar... Took a few before i picked a good one from my pile that preformed good, but still needed some tinkering to keep it happy...So, I finally got around to cutting down one of the Raven fillerless cartos I ordered. Im pretty happy with the job I did considering my limited resources. The only tools I have for the job are a junior hacksaw, a vice and some sandpaper. The cut was pretty straight, and I got the length bang on
Now, the vape: Gurgle gurgle gurgle - burnt taste - A LOT of juice dumpes all over inside of BB. Im pretty sure thats not right...
Not terribly impressed so far.
And hey, in that plastic bag, it almost really is the "shiny" $5.00 bill he said it would be.![]()
I ordered a couple more batteries to be sure. Better safe than sorry! Doug how can we get our hands on more o rings for the tank and the red one for the connection?
Now...I want to address all you panty hamsters that got on this new pre-order list. There is no need to post daily you are waiting for shipping info, no need to post an update daily from the USPS, no need to flood this thread with your anticipation and dreams...you made it on the list now put on your big girl panties and wait like a man. A CNC machine works at the speed it works at, DD can only build so many boards a day, and his workers do need food and sleep, they can't make tanks and polish 24/7.
Make fun posts, make picture posts make silly posts, make outrageous posts but do not, under any circumstances, make whiny posts.
This has been a public service announcement...
LOL Cant believe it is that size, cause it looks so much bigger in the pics and the few vids I could find on it. My family and friend just look at me all funny eyed when I show them my little paper box and explain to them how wonderful the BB is gonna be.
Huuummmm 2 of them I think are makin plans for me to see a Doc. (the head kind)

Silverdove, get a couple of 510 attys for tasting juice. you can use your regular driptips on them, and just rinse them out to change flavors.
cinco de Update,
k, here's what been going on. This week was full of receiving and setting up the tools for the new machine and programing her to actually move around and cut things. Her priority is to take over all the aluminum work for Dev, so first she needs the pallets to hold the rough stock, so that was step one....
step one, put in a 1.25" slab of 2024 aluminum for a pallet, and use the machine to flatten the sucker...
and then do it again because i didn't do it right the first time...
now i have (enter new machines name here) cutting out the part that will hold the BB raw stock into place..
done, neat-O
so now i can load material onto that pallet, and the little black thingys are cams with teeth on them that bite and hold the stock inta place with a combined total of.....(doing math).....21,600lbs of force per bar!!! so yah, not going anywhere now.
k, now here i had to stop and write this....
And as of right now, i'm debugging it by actually running the machine and cutting out boxes.. this is the stupid part... there are a lot of little things to work out by dong test runs, tweaking the code, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again......it's necessary work to dial her all in... but on the whole, this machine flat out kicks a$s!

The machine still needs one more part to be 100% functional, and a Haas CNC tech guy should be delivering and installing it later this week. It's a probing device that lets her "feel" what she has on her table and lets me write code so she can do and preform actions with the data she gathers from the probe... that was one of the instruction manuals i read last week, so hopefully i got it covered when it shows.
Lots of other stuff is going on in the shop too, i'v just been to busy to pay attention to it... electronic guts are being soldered and stuff, tanks, battery clips.... ton o stuff. Once I can step away from the new machine for a few min's i'll take some pics of the other type things going on, but for now,, i'm kinda glued to this thing!
if you need anything from me ASAP, call me, support number on the site. I do not get ANY e-mails at all, nor can i answer pms everyday, i simply just don't have the time. I will help you but the phone is how you get my attention if you need something from me asap.
Hmmm, I'm going to have to try that mix!seconded, i was testing a mix of nlv-gold to coppercreek coffee a bit ago and an atty is the best for "sampling". landed at 70/30 though it's had to go wrong with either juice anywayz so it's kinda a moot point... nummy!
Sometimes it's good to be a hoarder!Nlv gold is a tobacco?
I need a new drunken flavor since boba is lost in space![]()

umm, wow, aaahh,,, kinda, no, maybe...who knows,, i thinks kinda like,,,umm... it's a little like a.. kinda sweet, but not really,,, damn, some people say rice crispy treats... i get almost a maple syrupy type flavor, but it's not that sweet, rich,,, that's a good word, rich... i'll go with rich! I would say there is a little tobacco'y undertones, with maybe vanilla, and maple... it's an all day vape for sure, not a novelty..
